North south winners were Mrs. Rob ert Elliott and Ray Wise, first 133V6; Mrs. Richard Mile stone and Mrs. A. W. Lingaas, second, 125; Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. John Dougherty, third 12414; and Mrs. F. R. Baker and George Rode, fourth, 115Vi. East-west top scores went to Mrs. H. J. Boyd and John Solheim, 134V4; Mrs. B. L. Sanderson and Paul Hatton, second, 132; Mrs. George Dean and Howard Boyd, third, 117; and Mrs. Roy Keim and Berg Marten, fourth, 116V4. John Solheim, formerly of the Camp White domiciliary, was a visiting player. Winners for .north . south play Saturday night at the monthly master point play sponsored by the American Contract Bridge league were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Clark, first. 141; Mrs. Sam Richardson and Mrs. John Dougherty, sec ond, 13B'4; Mr. and Mrs, Le land Clark, third, 129; and Roy Prultt and John Short ridge, fourth, 127. East-west winners were Mrs. J. J. Finegan and Mrs. Lawrence Espey, first, 132; Mrs. William Knope and Mrs. Robert Elliott, second, 124; Mrs. Virginia Anderson and M. Reddick, Grants Pass, third, 120'4; and John Sol heim and Howard Brock, Grants Pass, fourth, 119V4. Four players from Medford and eight from Grants Pass attended the Paradise section al tournament last week end. Southern Oregon players re portedly made a good show ing at the event. Temple to Take Annual Vacation; Member Honored The last meeting of the Talisman temple, Pythian Sis ters, before vacation, will be held Tuesday, June 21, at 8 p.m. in the Pythian hall, North Grape street. The mem bers having birthdays in June and July will be honored. The grand representative and alternate will be elected. A chairman will be appointed for the rummage sale to be held in the early fall of this year. Mrs. Harry Bryant will re port on the departure last week of Mrs. Helen Roseman to the Oregon - Washington Pythian home, Vancouver, Wash., where she will be a guest. Mrs. Roseman has been a member of Talisman temple for many years. Refreshment committee will be Mrs. Dorothy John ston, chairman, Mrs. Delia Littlefield and Mrs. Mae Cooper. Miss Ruth Walden, bride eicct of Ray Bilderback, was honored June 14 at a bridal shower during a meeting of the Pythian club at the home of Mrs. John Russell, 333 Sut ter street. Miss Walden is a daughter of Mrs. Wilbur L. Walden, 848 West McAndrews road, and the late Mr. Walden. Mr. Bilderback is the son of Mrs. W. H. Turley, Coleman Creek road, and L. M. Bilderback, Medford. Hostesses for the shower were Mrs. W. S. Sweet, presi dent of the club, and Mrs. Ida Ireland. Guests Included Mrs. Elva Alhcrn, Miss Catherine Miller and Mrs. Turley. The next meeting of the club will be held at the Sweet home on Old Stage road Tues day, July 12, at 8 p.m. Final Meetina I . . - . . Slated by Group Medford Ladies of Elks will meet for a salad luncheon and an afternoon of cards Tues day, June 21, at 12:30 p.m. in the downstairs party lounge at the Elks temple. This will : be the last meeting until the first Tuesday in October. Mrs. F. E. Nichols, Mrs. : John H. Dalen and Mrs. Ed- ward Olson will serve as the refreshment committee for Tuesday's party. Wives and widows of all Elk members are invited to attend the Ladles of Elks parties. 4 i Navy Mothers Plan j Meeting on Tuesday j At Ouacfcenbush Home; Rogue Valley Navy Moth ers club will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, for an all day session at the home of Mrs. Carl Quackenbush, Egan orchards, Foothill road, Route 3, Box 88. Sewing is planned for the morning, and a potluck lunch eon will be served t noon. Mrs. Henry Dooms, newly elected commander, will pre side over the meeting.
