I Fathers' day points up how important fathers are, not only to their families but to their communities, business and industry at they go about their daily task of earning a living. Ed Evans is not only the man of the household at 929 Newtown street, i but the official mechanic at the main station of Medford's Fire department. Mr. Evans, with the department 10 years, is on ; duty three 24-hour shifts a week at the station and checks constantly to see that every working part of the station equipment is In tip top working order. The Evans have two daughters, Lynda, 9, and Pamela, 4, who attend West Main Church of Christ. Patrolman lucas, pictured as he began his shift at 4 p.m. Tuesday, completed four years with the department June IS. Mr. and Mrs. Lucas and their three children, Mary 5, Lisa 3 and the baby lee, more than a year old, live at 726 King street. They attend Medford Friends church and Patrolman lucas teaches a Sunday school class. Before joining the department, Mr. lucas and his father operated a dairy ranch in the Lake creek area. " 'r .' :",'k h:. ' . . i -" - - i - ' c A father new to Medford is Peter Rueff, personnel manager and opera tion officer for Medford branch, First National Bank of Oregon. Mr. Rueff was transferred from the Coos Bay bank last November and Mrs. Rueff and their children arrived here in January. The children are Steven 8, James 7, Cynthia 4 and Tamara, 1; the Rueffs live at 1010 South Oakdale avenue and attend Sacred Heart Catholic church, Mr. Rueff has been named to the board of the United Medford Crusade, has been Invited to join the Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce and will work with the Knights of Columbus here. Harvey Parrott, a private line service man for the Pacific Telephone-Northwest company. Is pictured in the news room of The Medford Moil Tribune servicing one of the teletype machines which bring in the news from all over the world. The Parrotts live at 1004 South Third street in Jacksonville and have two children. Claudia Edette it 10, and her brother, Richard Dean, it 13. Mr. Parrott belongs to the Jacksonville lions club and his wife, active in the ouxiliary, is the newly elected state treasurer for the lions auxiliary In Oregon. They came to Jackson county in 1947. Cator earns a living by workln g at a log scaler for Kogap Manufacturing company and Tuetday afternoon Photogra pher Robert Vroman found him buiy at a truck loaded with big logs. When the day 't work it done, Mr. Cator returnt to join hit wife and two children, Douglas 8, and M elinda, 5, at the family horn at 756 Gar field ttreet. Mr. Cator It a "do it yourself" b uilder in hit spare time and for the past tev ral yeart hat been working on a small ho use trailer which the family can use for camping end vacation trips.
