The scarification is for the purpose of mechanically re-1 moving sod, weeds and brush from non-stocked forest lands to create more favorable site conditions for regeneration. The treatment includes 135 acres in BLM's Salem district, 130 acres in the Coos Bay dis trict and 576 acres in three projects in the Medford dis trict. The successful bidder will be required to use a crawler tractor of not less than 125 DB horsepower equipped with either a special land clearing blade or an accepta ble roller type brush cutter. The successful bidder will have 60 days to complete the work.
