She was assisted by the other new officers. Mrs. Flakus announced her committee chairmen. They are Mrs. Richard Wager and Mrs. Eugene Parker, pro gram; Mrs. Floyd Eastwood and Mrs. Fred Stock, budget and finance; Mrs. Dave Irv ing and Mrs. Dalton Gressett, ways and means; Mrs. Clorin Moore, telephone; Mrs. Ray Jones and Mrs. Tom Shoop, social; Mrs. Eastwood, can cer bandages; Mrs. Willard Chlnn, Mrs. Gerald Nelson and Mrs. Ay Navarette, rum mage sales; Mrs. Robert Stu- are, publicity and scrapbooks; and Mrs. Eugene Garner, wel fare and service. Guests at the meeting were members of the newly char tered Gamma Rho chapter of Phoenix. Mrs. Parker report ed on the state convention held in Roseburg May 20 to 22. Mrs. Dale Curfman, who Is moving to Eugene was hon ored by a handkerchief show er at the close of the meeting. Mrs. Eastwood was hostess for the chapter assisted by Mrs. John Watklns and Mrs, Wager. Culturals were pre sented by Mrs. Floyd Robert son and Mrs. Lional Guy. SimMeir's Mr, and Mrs, Daniel Raymond Avila 'Ask the Pastor' Meeting Topic Rogue River-An open for um discussion is planned for a meeting of The Women's association, Hope Presbyter ian church, Thursday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Barnett hall. Devotions will be given by Mrs, Lee Miller. Mrs. Jeff Irwin, president, will conduct the business meeting. The forum, "Let's Ask the Pastor," will be led by the pastor, The Rev, Robert L. Maxson, Those attending will ask questions in relation to religion in politics, social is sues, and other pertinent sub jects. Immediately following the meeting, refreshments will be seryed by Vesper circle. During June the association will collect clothing to be sent overseas. Clean clothing iin good repair is being request ed, and should be placed in a box which will be in the nar thex of the church. Clothing is urgently needed overseas, especially in the disaster areas of Japan and Chile, Uhe win ter season is now m progress in the country of Chile and blankets are desperately need ed. A wedding of interest here was held May 21 at St. Jude's Catholic church, Ceres, Calif., when Miss Myrna An nette Callaway became the bride of Daniel Raymond Avila. The bride Is a daught er of Mr. and Mrs. Hobert S. Callaway, 1140 Morrow road, Medford. Mr. Avila's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Avila, Hickman, Calif. The Kev. Hugh McKenna officiated at the four o'clock afternoon rites attended by 200 relatives and friends. William Peterschick served as altar boy. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white silk organza over satin gown appliqued with satin roses and rose buds. The litted bod ice was fashioned with Peter Pan collar and three quarter length sleeves. Her fingertip length veil was , held by a seed pearl and satin crown and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses. Sister Attends Miss Pat Callaway, San Francisco, attended her sist er. She wore a sea foam green silk organza frock and earned a bouquet of yellow roses. Her accessories were sea foam green. Francis Avila, Ceres, served as best man for his brother. Seating the guests were Sam Turner, Modesto, Calif., cousin of the bride, and Jim Merriman, Hickman. White stock decorated the church, Mrs. B. B, Blair was organist and accompanied Robert Parks, soloist. For her daughter's wed ding and the reception which followed In the Community Center, Mrs. Callaway wore an avocado green sheath dress with matching hat and black patent accessories. Her corsage was of pink carna tions. Mrs. Avila chose a two piece blue floral print frock with white and black acces sories. Her flowers were white carnations. White gladioli and garden ias decorated the Center for the reception. Assisting with the serving were Mrs. Eliza beth Field, Mrs. Louie Peter schick, Mrs. Paul Chorlev, Lodi, Calif., sisters o the bridegroom, Mrs. Francis Avila, Mrs, Sam Turner ana Miss Janet Edwards, Med ford. Miss Eloise Kilgore and Mrs. Robert Court were at the gift table and Miss Carol Turner and Miss Kathy Peter schick were in charge of the gift book. To Arizona The couple traveled to Grand Canyon National park in Arizona and southern California on their wedding trip. The bride wore for traveling an avocado green suit with beige accessories and brown and beige flower ed hat. Her corsage was of yellow roses. They are mak ing their home in Modesto, The bride attended Med ford High school and Modesto Junior college. She was book keeper and receptionist for the Modesto Tribune. Mr. Avila attended Hughson High school and Modesto Junior college. He is a planning tech nician with the Modesto plan ning department. Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Callaway, parents of the bride, and Shel by Callaway, all Medford. They are appreciation of the arts, modern dance, and a sec ond group In applied arts. Other study groups are ap plied arts, international rela t i o n s, interior decoration, Shakespeare, and Great Deci sions. Study groups are open to all women, whether or not AAUW members. Douglas Dyer Miss Carol Ann Mann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.: A. Mann, 1425 Stewart enue, became the bride of Douglas lis Dyer, son st Mrs, ilo C. Dyer, Myrtle Creek, in ceremony held May 27 at First Methodist church. Dr, George D, Roseberry officiated at the double ring rites held at 7 o'clock in the evening. Baskets of white stock and yellow daisies dec orated the church. Mrs. Les lie Boardman played the or gan wedding music and ac companied Mrs. D. G. Mac Dougali, soloist. Given In marriage by her father, the bride wore a bal lerina length white lace over taffeta gown. Her fingertip veil was held by a crown of pearls and she carried a bou quet of white carnations en circling a white orchid. The handkerchief she carried was loaned by Mrs, Dyer. It had been carried st the wedding of the bridegroom's great grandmother. Mrs. Charles Dalley, Phoe- ix, attended the bride. She wore a silk print frock with white accessories and carried bouquet of white daisies. Frank Radford, Myrtle Creek, served as best man. Seating the guests were Don Mann, brother of the bride, . and Gene Freese, brother-m-1 law of ths bridegroom. j For her daughter's wedding : Mrs, Mann chose a light blue and white suit with white ac-i cesssfics.
