Twelve mem bers and nine visitors were present. We are going to invite the Huch Sewing club for a pic nic and swimming party in July. We will have a work day July 20. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were serv ed. Susan Head, Reporter 4-H Valley Experimenters Valley Experimenters club met recently at the home of members Clifton and Lar ry Mitchell. Mr. Clidden dem onstrated some feeders and how to make them. After the meeting he inspected two members' rabbits. Refresh ments were served. Larry Mitchell, Reporter Pam Roberts reported on the club snow party to Ml. Shasta April 24. - Discussed were plans for a 4-H pre-fair to be put on by the Westside Hayburners cluo sometime in July. No time or date was set as of yet. Special reports will be giv en next meeting by Bonnie Cheney and Linda Gibson. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments served. Bonnie Cheney, Reporter. Flying Stitchers Phoenix Flying Stitchers 4-H Sewing club met recently in the high school home eco nomics room. We worked on our projects which we are try ing to complete by pre-fair time in July. Linda Rasmussen, Reporter Willing Worker. A recent meeting of the Willing Workers 4-H club was called to order by Judy Fra nek. Roll call was answered by the members' naming their projects. We had a tea for mothers and for Mrs. Franek's club. Entertainment was followed by refreshments. Nancy Frick, Reporter Cut Ups Shady Cove Cut Ups 4-H club have held two regular meetings this month. All members were present. We ' are putting the pockets on our aprons. Carolyn Uhrich, Reporter TaUni Can Canners The sixth meeting of Talent Can Canners 4-H club was held at Mrs. Bagley's home recently. There was a film on freezing fruits and vegetables. The members were accompa nied by their mothers. The next meeting will be held June 6 at Mrs. Bagley's. Linda Mullin, Reporter Area Information To Be in Magazine Information of interest to Industrial firms concerning the Medford area will appear in Industrial Development magazine, according to Don McNeil, Medford Chamber of Commerce manager. He said Medford has quali fied nationally in the regis tered community audit, a service provided by the maga zine, and information con cerning this community will be publicized by the maga zine "from time to time." . The publication is sent to executives of manufacturing concerns. The chamber indus trial committee has ordered a small supply to be used-in re sponse to certain inquiries and direct mail promotion, McNeil said. The local office staff spent several weeks gathering in formation in order that the details would qualify , with the magazine. McNeil said the chamber doesn't know how much good the qualification will do, but "we think it's nice to have our phone number and vital statistics posted wherever possible." Exams Announced By Sen. Wayne Morse D-Ore.) has announced that preliminary civil service examinations will be given in Oregon Monday, July 11, to young men interested in nomination to a service academy. Unmarried men in good physical condition who will have reached their 17th but not their 22nd birthday by July, 1961, are eligible to participate in the examina tion, he said. The tests are the first step toward possible appointment to the Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., Naval Acad emy at Annapolis,. Md Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
