Tots Will Get Attention in Swim Classes YMCA swimming classes for boys and girls from 6 to 16 years of age will start on Monday, June 13, with David E. Curson, Y physical direc tor as Instructor. Special attention will be given to classes for tots, those ages 6 and 7. There are open ings for 120 beginners with two lessons per week for each section. These sections will meet Monday and Thursday, Tuesday and Friday or Wednesday and Saturday at 9 a.m. Classes will be limit ed to 20 enrollees and reser vations may be made at the Y. Special Attention Curzon will work directly with the students, giving spe cial attention to those having difficulty with beginners' skills. A section on advanced swimming is held for tots who have passed the beginning level. The physical director has Just returned from the north west area Y aquatic institute at Portland. He studied and practiced new techniques. Highlight of the institute con cerned teaching of beginners. With the new pool accous tical treatment and heating plant operation handicaps which plagued former classes have been eliminated, Robert Jones, Y general secretary has declared. He said that the swim instruction service means much to the safety and health of youth in the com munity. Each year more than 700 swimmers have passed the beginners test, he said. United Medford Crusade bears part of the expense of this service. Big Game Rule Hearing Friday Portland - iVTO - The state fame commission meets here Friday to discuss big game hunting regulations for the 1960 season. Rules for hunting deer, elk and antelope will be discussed and regulations will be tenta tively set After a two-week interval the commission will meet June 10 at which final regulations will be adopted.
