Hyde, a former res ident of Medford, who died in Newberg, Ore., May 16, were held at the Medford IOOF cemetery Thursday af ternoon. The Rev. John O. Pictures were shown by Mr. and Mrs. Scott Brill, who recently traveled to the Orient. Roscoe Roberts, county deputy, gave a short talk on Grange work. Lorraine and Bishop, all of Prospect, were Bishop, al lof Prospect, were voted on to become members of the Grange. Harold Barber gave a short talk on the billboard petition, stating that it would not effect the Crater Lake high way or any secondary high way. Roberts Installed Lucile Barber as lecturer; Ray Gil lispie, assistant steward; Doro thy Tackstein, Ceres; Harold Barber and Ranald Axtell, executive committee mem bers. Past Master Herb Carl ton served as installing mar shal. Ann Roberts and Meryle Carlton assisted. The Home Economics club scheduled a meeting for May 12 at the Torrance home. A short business meeting; was followed by a mothers' tea. to which all the girls' mothers were invited. Central Point Lassie Stitchers 4-11 Sewing club members and mothers were also invited. For entertainment, Janice Hansen played a piano solo; Judy Daniels read two poems: Sharon Trainman and Sue Higinbotham played a clari net duet accompanied by Judy Daniels, pianist; and Patty McCue played an ac cordion solo. Games were played. The girls modeled their dresses which they had made and gave their mothers the slippers which had been made for them. Judy Daniels and Sue Higinbotham served re freshments. The next meeting will be at the Piukham home June 7. Burehell, 88. consid ered one of the world's lead ing authorities in a medical specialty he was never al lowed to practice, died here Wednesday in a nursing home. Burehell never completed high school and never ob tained a license to practice as an eye and ear specialist. His honorary doctorate, was awarded by Roanoke College. Salem, Va., in 19;Ui. But Burehell was credited with several medical discov eries in his field. He taught many of today's leading eye and ear specialists, was a con sultant in an operation per formed on King Praiadhipok of Siam in 1944, and became the only layman ever named a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.
