ES8Y McGILL Named to Position Business Educator Named Assistant To Dr. Stevenson Ashland The appointment of Dr. Esby C. McGill, out standing businese educator from the southwest, assist ant to the president at South ern Oregon college was con firmed at the April meeting of the state board of higher education, according to SOC president, Dr. Elmo N. Steven ton. Dr. McGill will assume the position in September, Dr, ' Stevenson said, taking charge of academic instructional af fairs, coordinating curriculum and research. Listed In Whoa Who in American Education aince 1932, Dr. McGill graduated with distinction from South- west Missouri Stat college. He attended graduate schools at Okahoma A and M colege, Texas A and M college, and Kansas Stat Teacher col lage. He received hl doctor of education degree from New York university in 10,15, on the thesis aubjeet "A Study of Business Skills and Knowl- edgea Used by Buainesa and Non-Bueinese People." In l5g he received the NYU found er'a day award for his doc toral. Dr. McGill if a coauthor of the complete course in briefhand, a widely used text in business and academic schools. He has written over 100 articles published In pro fessional periodicals and year books. A former chairman of the division of businesa education t Kansas Slate Teachers col lege, Dr. McGill ia presently professor of business admin istration and secretarial sci ence at Utah State university.
