The move is planned Saturday, May 7. The Boy Scout council mov ed to its present building at 300 East Main st. In 1927, which was about three years after its organization in Octo ber, 1924. The council, which serves Jackson, Josephine and Siski you counties, has six em ployees, and crowded condi tions in the present 690 square feet forced the move. The new offices will have 990 square feet. At the time the Crater Lake Council moved into its office near the Bear creek bridge, there were about 350 Boy Scouts with one man employ ed as Scout executive. At the present time there are 4,300 boys in Scouting. A target date of September, 1961, has been set for a new council service center to be built under the direction of of an office committee headed by George C. Flanagan. Repainting and building of shelves and counters in the new office space will be done April 30 and May 1 with the moving of office equipment and materials slated for the next Saturday.
