Grape sts., Modford. The move
is planned Saturday, May 7.
The Boy Scout council mov
ed to its present building at
300 East Main st. In 1927,
which was about three years
after its organization in Octo
ber, 1924.
The council, which serves
Jackson, Josephine and Siski

ployees, and crowded condi
tions in the present 690 square
feet forced the move. The new
offices will have 990 square
feet.
At the time the Crater Lake
Council moved into its office
near the Bear creek bridge,
there were about 350 Boy
Scouts with one man employ
ed as Scout executive. At the
present time there are 4,300
boys in Scouting.
A target date of September,
1961, has been set for a new
council service center to be
built under the direction of
of an office committee headed
by George C. Flanagan.
Repainting and building of
shelves and counters in the
new office space will be done
April 30 and May 1 with the
moving of office equipment
and materials slated for the
next Saturday. A request has
been marie for volunteers to
help in completing the work
by May 7.
