Sunday School To Be Organized An 1 n t e rdenominational Sunday school will be or ganized in the Willow Springs school house Sunday at 9:45 a.m. The Sunday school is being organized by and will be an affiliate of the American Sun' day School Union, an interde nominational Home mission board. The Union has been oper ating since 1817 with the pur pose of organizing and main taining rural Sunday schools. Union Sunday schools already operating in this area include Antelope, Brownsboro, Cop co, Foots Creek, Forest Acres, Meadows, Table Rock and Savage Creek. All interested residents of the Willow Springs area are invited to attend the first meeting and to be a part of the Sunday school. There will be an adult class, as well as classes for the children and young people. Deanery Priests To Hold Meeting Priests of the Medford Dean ery ol the Archdiocese of Port land in Oregon will meet at the Sacred Heart parish house Tuesday morning for the group's annual spring discus sion of theological problems. A paper on dogmatic theol ogy will be read by the Rev. William S. Walsh of Our Lady of the Mountain church in Ashland. All other priests in attend ance are required to prepare papers on a problem of moral theology. Some of these are to be discussed at the meeting and all are submitted to Arch diocesan chancery offices. The Medford. Deanery is composed of the Catholic church parishes in Douglas, Josephine and Jackson coun ties and is presided over by the Very Rev. Carl Mai, pas tor of Sacred Heart church in Medford. Following the morning meet ing, Father Mai and his as sistants, the Rev. William Mc Leod and the Rev. John A. Ilg, will be hosts at a luncheon for the group. Course Continues At Eastwood Baptist Sunday at 9:30 a.m. the Rev. Clfford Young, pastor of Eastwood Baptist church, will continue his course for inquir ers and new church members. The theme will be "Declare the New Life." A baptismal service is being arranged for May 8. At 10:43 a.m. worship hour the pastor will speak on "The Unmerciful Servant." The ehancel choir will sing. At 5:30 p.m. the Eastwood Baptist Youth fellowship will have a Mexico trip rally at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Blair. At the 7:30 p.m. service the pastor will speak on "The Red Thread of the Bible." Tuesday the long range planning committee will meet and April 27, the quarterly business meeting will be held. Saturday, April 23, the Bap tist Youth fellowship will sponsor a rummage sale at the Fehl building. Proceeds from the sale will go to their Mex ico trip fund. Methodists Schedule Committee Meeiings nr. fieoree Roseberry, min f ister of First Methodist church, will preach on the theme "Love Is Something You Do" at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday. The youth choir will sing "Praise Ye The Father." Ralph E. Van Horn, Port land, will sing a solo at each service. The chancel choir will sing "Easter Light" In the 11 a.m. service. The commission on social and economics will meet Mon day, Tuesday the commission on education and the commit tee on requirements of teach ers will meet, and Wednes day the committee on nomi nations. All meetings will be at 7:45 p.m. at the church. Methodist Youth Fellow ship meets Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The Older Youth Fellow ship meets at 6:30 p.m. and the Junior-Hi MYF Methodist Youth Fellowship at 5:30 p.m. STATE ALLEGIANCE Jackson, Miss. - HTD - Thc Mississippi House of Repre sentatives Thursday approved . bill requiring school chil dren to pledge allegiance to the state flag of Mississippi as well as the United States flag at the opening of class each morning. Darold Jones, RichmondCalif., will be the guest speaker at the 11 a.m. service Sunday at the First Church of God. Haven and Holly sts. Mr. Jones, former pastor of the church, will speak on "The Magic of Grace." The Sunday evening serv ice will feature a music and talent festival. Members have been asked to request the songs and suggest numbers for this program. The Rev. W. E. Martin, pas tor, will leave Monday to at end the West Coast Ministers' meeting in Portland. This conclave will be held at the Holiday Church of God April 25 to 28. The First Church of God will be in charge of the serv ice at the Medford Gospel Mission Friday evening, April 29. Gold Hill Christian Sunday Topic Told Gold Hill-"DoiVt Wait for the Millenium, Work for It," will be the title of the sermon subject by Miss Jean Cunning ham, minister of the Gold Hill Christian church, Sun day at 11 a.m. Mr. and Mrs. Waller Scott will be guests at potluck sup per at the church Sunday at 7 p.m. Mrs. Scott will show colored slides of the couple's travels in the western states. The Sunday school's Bible reading and attendance con test is being led by Miss Cun ningham's Junior High school group. Clarence Freeman's, Young people's class is sec ond. Sunday school starts at 9:45 a.m. Mrs. Rex Allison, acting su perintendent of the Sunday school asked that those who have snap shots of picnics, other outings or groups in conjunction with the church to take them to Sunday school this week. Community Church Announces Events Sams Valley - Miss Joyce Roelfs will sing a solo entitled "I'd Rather Have Jesus" for the worship services at the Sams Valley Community church, Sunday at 11 a.m. Mrs. John Roelfs will be pianist. The sermon message will be by the Rev. John Roelfs, pastor of the church. Officials of the church an nounced that beginning Sun day, child care will be pro vided for pre-school age chil dren whose parents wish to attend church. Two high school girls have volunteered their services for this week. The Sunday school with Mrs. Edgar Pleasant, superin tendent, in charge, begins at 10 a.m. Devotional Subject Announced for Unity "His Power in Us" will be the Sunday devotional subject at 11 a.m. for the Unity serv ice at the Pythian hall, Fifth and Grape sts. The Rev. Katharine Bosworth, minister, will speak. Men of Unity will meet Monday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m. for dinner at the Center, 995 South Oakdale ave. The dis cussion on "Principles of Prosperity" will continue on "Good Business." White Elephant Party Set Friday Central Point - A white elephant party will be held Friday, April 20, at Church of Christ, Third and Oak sts., Central Point, starting with a potluck dinner. The event, for church and Bible school, is the pay-off party for the recent contest in the Bible school in which students received "play" money as points for their ef forts. An auction will be held as a feature of the party, at which time all present may bid on any white elephant being offered at the time. All members and friends are asked to start taking their "white elephants" to the church for the party.
