Two -Car Collision - Ve hicles operated by Dan Hous ton Perry, 45, of 727 West Jackson t., and Gilbert Peter Hyn, 49, of 912 Narregan St,, collided at 10:31 a.m. Thurs day, at the Intersection of Fourth and Front sts., police said. There were no injuries, and no citations were issued. S. marshal left five prisoners in the Jackson county Jail Fri day night while en route to McNeil Island penitentiary in Washington, a sheriff's deputy reported. The county jail Is authorized and approved for keeping federal prisoner! en route to penitentiaries by the federal prison inspector, it was reported. Smeke Investigations - The Medford fire department made two smoke investiga tions Saturday morning. At 9:34 a.m. firemen investigated smoke at Jean Hart's, Inc., 817 East Main st., Medford. Firemen said smoke was from a nearby chimney. Another smoke investigation was made at 10:21 a.m. Saturday at the residence of Kenneth B. Teeter, 232 South Modoc ave. An electric motor in the fur nace was found to bo the Obituaries ANNA H. MUCHMORB Grants Pass - Mrs. Anna H. Muchmore, former longtime Medford resident, died Fri day in a Grants Pass hospi tal. She was 80. Mrs. Muchmore was born Jan. 24, 1880, in Oshkosh, Wis., and, with her late hus band, operated a grocery business in Medford for 17 years before moving to Brookings in 1945. She moved to Grants Pass six years ago. Survivors include a daugh ter, Mrs. Mildred Byrne of Brookings; two granddaugh ters, Mrs. Margaret Slagle of Grants Pass and Miss Joan Byrne of San Francisco, and four great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tues day at Hillcrest Memorial park. Grants Pass. The Rev. D. V. Barnett will officiate. Funeral arrangements are un der the direction of Hull and Hull Funeral home, Grants Pass. MRS. ELSIE WILLIAMS Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Williams, widow of C. K. Williams, will be held in the Conger-Morris Funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Private committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Sur vivors include a son and daughter in California. LILLIAN R. McFARLANE Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Rosella McFarlane, of 1813 West Main St., who died Friday, will be held at Conger- Morns Funeral home down town chapel Tuesday at 1 p.m. Elder John D. Trude, of the Seventh Day Adventist church, of which she was a member, will officiate. Com mittal will be in Memory Gar dens Memorial park. Mrs. McFarlane was born May 10, 1877, in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada. She had been living with her daughter, Mrs. J. Fred Baker, in Medford. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs, Baker; and Mrs. Leo Dickinson, Hartford Conn.; a son, Lee McFarlane, Toronto, Canada; 13 grand children and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kate Hyde, 90, Daughter of Pioneers, Dies Mrs. Kale A. Hyde, 90, of Jacksonville, life-time resi dent of southern Oregon, died Thursday. Mrs. Hyde was born Dec. 13, 1869, in Applegate, Ore. She was a daughter of Wil liam and Amanda Herriott, early pioneers in the Apple- gate valley. On March 10, 1898. in Ap plegate, she was married to Zabadiah Hyde, who preced ed her in death. She was a school teacher, teaching in Provolt, Applegate, Steam boat and Thompson creek dis tricts for 28 years. Survivors include a daugh ter, Mrs. Boyd Hamilton, Jacksonville; a son. William Hyde. Klamath Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Lola Bunch and Mrs. Anna Prophet, both of Williams; and two grandsons, William R. Hyde Jr., and Rob ert H. Hyde, both of Portland. Funeral services will be held at Conger - Morris Fun eral home's downtown chapel at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Earl Best of the Ruch Com munity church will officiate. Committal will be in the Mis souri Flats cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roland Smith, Henry Powlowski, Glen Smith, Harland Cantrall, Martin McDonough and Boyd Hamilton, all of Jacksonville. Washington Man Guilty of Murder Spokane - WW) - Edmond Allen Gray, 20, was found guilty of first-degree murder by a Superior Court jury Fri day for the rifle slayings of his young wife and her par ents last Oct. 8. The jury of three women and nine men deliberated six hours and 15 minutes before bringing in the verdict. It also made a recommendation against the death penalty. Under state law, Gray now faces life imprisonment. Funds Asked for Navigation Projects Salem - 0IPD - Gov. Mark Hatfield said Saturday that $1,037,400 in federal funds have been requested for an immediate start on emer gency navigation projects at Oregon'a coastal ports. The action was taken after storm damage and deteriora tion of jetties and other facili ties create a serious threat to the area'i economy- An inves tigation by the State Depart ment of Planning and Devel opment preceded the request. S. began about 80 years ago. Damage Suit is Filed in Court Gerald R. Albrisht, by and through a guardian. Buena Pearl Albright, 2805 Corey rd., Medford, is seeking $50, 000 in general damages, $7,000 special damages and $10,000 punitive damages from Loyd E. M a y b o r n, Grants Pass, whom he charges assaulted him. Albright charges in his com plaint in Jackson county cir cuit court that he suffered a fractured skull, broken cheek bone and partial paralysis and brain damage. As a result of his injuries, Albright alleges that he has been unable to work, and has lost earnings amounting to $4,000. Hospital and medical expenses amount to $3,000 and may amount to more, the com plaint alleges. The guardian charges that the assault and battery was willful, malicious, vicious and violent and that Gerald R. GRACE LEE PRESCOTT Ashland - Mrs. Grace Lee Prescott, 84, who has lived in Ashland since 1908, died Fri day afternoon at 5465 South Pacific highway. She was born July 30, 1875, in Centerville, Iowa. Survivors include one son, Lee W. Prescott, Ashland; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Harriett) Davis, Phoenix, Ore.; a grand son, and two cousins. Lulu M. Stato to Pay Cost Of Ballot Reprinting Salem (IIPD Secretary of State Howell Appling said Friday he had adviaed coun ties which are having primary ballots reprinted at extra cost to submit claims to the 1961 legislature. State Rivers, Lakes Said Well-Stocked Portland - IUPD - Oregon rivers and lakes were stocked with about three million sal mon and steelhead yearlings during March, according to a report issued by the Fish Culture division of the Ore gon Fish Commission. The largest number of any species liberated was 1,500,- 000 silver salmon. Fall Chin ook totalled 453,000, chum 385,000, steelhead 138,000, spring chinook 87,000 and blueback 27,000. In addition, a report from the U. S.
