Rev Katharine Bosworth, Minister Office SP 2-6902 OBEDIENCE Cont. In Hebr. 1:2 and 2:1 we have this exhortation: God hath in these last days spoke unto us by his Son . , . there fore we ought to give tha more earnest heed to the things we have heard. Thus we are ad monished to keep the teachings of Jesus. And in Hebr. 5:8-9 we read: Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which Ht suf fered; and being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation to all them who obey Him. Indeed eternal salvation is the blessing that one can obtain by obeying Christ. All acceptable obedience of God comes from love of him. Christ said, "If you love Me you will keep My command ments." John 14:15. The spirit of obedience does not say, "Why should I do this or that?" but simply and only, "Lord what will you have me do?" To all who thus submit to the divine will there comes the divine assurance, "Blessed are they who do His command ments, that they may have a right to the tree of life, and may enter In through the gates Into the city," God's children never meet for the last time.
