The event will be held in the Camp White area, with most series likely on game commission management area land. Amateur, derby and qualifying stakes are slated in addition to the open. ' Miss Mclntire, from Lake Park, Fla., carved out an easy 5 and 4 triumph over Joanne Goodwin Tuesday in the final at the Pinehurst Country club. Bomb Call Leads To Search of Train Wenatchee, Wash. (UPD A Great Northern freight train was tied up for two hours Tuesday while a search was made for explosives reported somewhere aboard. An unidentified person called the railway, at Wenat chee and warned of an explo sive having been placed in a Great Northern train in the Cascades.. GN's only train in the area was the freight bound for Seattle. It was stopped at Sce nic at the west end of the eight-mile Cascade Tunnel and a thorough search was carried out. No trace of any explosive was found. Area Residents Attend Meeting Twenty-four members of the Una B. Inch chapter and the Medford chapter of the Oregon School Food Service association traveled to Port land last week for a two-day association state convention. The program included a bread , baking demonstration by L. H. Bates, Salt Lake City, Utah and "Lessons in Living" by Mrs. Elena Zelayeta, San Francisco, author and lectur er. Mrs. Virginia Wait, super visor of the Medford school lunch program, took part in the program. Mrs. Faye Ross, Shady Cove, served as state secretary the past year, and Mrs. Arlee Ragsdale, Trail, was installed as the new treas urer. The 1961 conference is to be held in Medford. DICK KNIGHT CO. The Tornado netmen travel to Yreka, Calif., on Friday and meet Roseburg high here on Saturday. Lettermen on Coach Bob Huff's squad are Gary Cum mings, John Shaw, Dave Ryri, Henry, Olson and Jim Ran dies. Olson, a basketball play er, has just turned out.- Cummings, Shaw and Dave Ryn appear ticketed for the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles jobs in that order with Ran dies and John McKinley bat tling for fourth and fifth spots for the opening tussles. Medford tied Klamath Falls last year for the Southern Or egon conference team title. - Hound Trial On Sunday Rogue Valley Field Trialers will conduct their second trail hound trial of the season Sun day. The event again will be off Old Stage rd. about a half mile north of Jacksonville with entries in green, junior and senior dog divisions. Opening contention is set for 9 a.m. Finals will be in the afternoon. Some of Oregon's best hounds will be entered. On the basis of competition last week end at Coos Bay these top entrants in the senior di vision will include Oscar, a plott, owned by William Las ley, Hillsboro; Black Panther, a whippet, owned by Cecil Shaw, North Bend; Shasta, a red bone, owned by Tim Horn, Jacksonville; Gold Tone, a red bone, owned by Fred Mitchell, Coos Bay; and Snooper, a black and tan, owned by Duane Bowling, Winston. Ragan Shines In Pro-Amateur Sarasota, Fla. -(UPD Golfs touring professionals move here for the DeSoto open to day, hoping that Dave Ragan has cooled off from a birdie binge that fired him to a dou ble win in the Seminole pro am at Palm Beach Tuesday. , The former University of Florida star, now playing out of Orlando, scooped up $1,700 in prize money in the pro-am. Kennedy -(D-Mass.) - will ad dress the mock Democratic national convention here April 22-23 at Willamette University. - ' The Democratic presidential candidate will make other ap pearances in the April Oregon visit but spokesmen said the schedule has not been com pleted. The berserk airman was identified as Air Policeman William M. Cook of the. Bronx, New York. He was. being held at base hospital for observation. The dead airmen were iden tified as M. Sgt.
