A Wednesday, Mar. 23, 1 960 Dance Dates Announced For Week Two square dance sessions are planned in Medford to morrow night, one at the Der by school Friday night and several on Saturday. Y-Knot Twirlers will hold a workshop Thursday at 8 p.m. at the YMCA. Contra dances will be presented, with Douglas Fosbury as caller. The club will furnish coffee; dancers are to take cookies. Teenagers Club Also scheduled Thursday is dancing for teenagers at 61 Vashti way from 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the' group have suggested that the club be qnamed the Igloo Stompers. In formation may be obtained by calling Dan Bighler, SPring 2-8862, or Karlene Neill, SPring 2-7611. The dance at Derby school will be a "hoedown" Friday night. The school is located nine miles up Eutte Falls road; Douglas Decker will call. Saturday Dances Saturday night Star Prom tnaders will dance at the Koxy Ann Grange hall at 8:30 Tf.m. Women's News Social Events : DELICIOUS 5t Panel Discussion On PTA Program A panel discussion on un desirable literature will be held during a meeting of Washington Parent - Teacher association set for Thursday, March 24, at 7:30 pjn. at the school. On the panel will be Paul Haviland, Medford attorney; the Rev. John Reynods, pastor of Westminister Presbyterian church, and Mrs. Kay Cro- well, Jackson County juvenile officer. Refreshments will be serv ed by mothers of children in the third grade. The PTA prayer will be read by Mrs. B. Feller. Plans for the meeting were made Monday during a ses sion of the executive board. The members met at the home of Mrs. William Townes, 913 Newtown street. It was also announced that the forty-seventh convention of the Oregon Congress of Parents and Teachers will be held at Hedrick Junipr High school in Medford April 26, 27, 28. Riverside Club Has Recent Party Ten tables of players at tended Riverside Bridge club's St. Patrick's day party. North-south winners were Mrs. W. W. Stevenson and Mrs. Fred T. Burich, first; Mrs. Richard Milestone and Mrs. C. L. Howard, second; Mrs. John Dougherty and Roy Pruitt, third; Mrs. H. J. Val lentyne and Norman Bonzon, Grants Pass, fourth. Winning east - west were Mrs. M. M. Herman and Al Gilhousen, first; Mrs. R. C. Cadmus and Mrs. H. J. Mills, Grants Pass, tied with Mrs Mary Trout and Mrs. Walter Winner, for second and third; Mrs. Fred Rehling and Mrs A. W. Lingaas, fourth. London Britain's Queen Elizabeth is pictured here with her third child. Prince Andrew Albert Christian Edward, who was named March 22. He will be known as Prince Andrew. The infant, born February 19, is second in line for the throne. Andrew and Albert are the names of his two grandfathers. Prince Andrew of Greece and the late King George VI of Britain. Christian and Edward are the names of. his great-great-grandfather. Christian IX of Denmark and King Edward VII. The names are also those of his uncle, Duke of Windsor. The duke's name is Edward Albert Chris tian George Andrew Patrick David. Elec tion of a vice-president for Region 5 will take place, and candidates will be initiated. The meeting is set for 8 p.m. at the lodge hall. Mrs. Englund also an nounces that a family dinner will be held Sunday, March 27, at 5:30 p.m. at the hall. Families attending are to take a salad or a covered dish for the meal. Crater Garden Club Lists Arrangement Show Titles Central Point - Gardeners and flower arrangers plan ning to enter the spring flow er show of Crater Garden club will find the arrangement section in the schedule filled with, intriguing titles. The show will be held Saturday, April 2, at Crater High school cafetorium on the North Pa cific highway. Hours are from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. All those planning to enter the show are reminded that the rules and regulations for standard flower shows must be followed. Anyone interest ed may phone Mrs. Charles S. Taylor, NOrmandy 4-2928, or Mrs. Arthur Straus, NOrman dy 4-2305, for schedules or further information. Titles for classes in the no vice section for the arrange ment division are "Wayward Spring," "Daffodil Nonsense," "Easter," "Spring Beauty," and "As-You Like It." The novice section is open to any one who has never won a blue ribbon or has never entered a standard flower show. The amateur section is open to persons who have won from one to four blue ribbons in standard flower shows, or any flower show. Titles for this section are "Wayward Spring," which is the show theme, "The Vivid Flower Marts," "Driftwood Dreams," "Daffy With the Noon Day Sun," and "Spring House Cleaning." Titles for the advanced amateur section are "Way ward Spring," "All Her Paths Are Peace," "Two - Furs," "Spring in the East" and "A Triangle.". Advanced a m a teurs are those who have won five or more blue ribbons in standard shows. The schedule includes ar rangement sections for men only, for juniors, and for miniature arrangements. The horticulture division lists var ious spring flowers and there is also a division for other garden clubs. The show chairman stress that unless an arrangement can be classified under one of the sections of the schedule, it may not be entered for judging. Entries will be ac cepted at the cafetorium from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. the day of the show; judging will begin at 10 a.m. and the show will open to the public at 2 p.m. It will remain open until 8:30 p.m. and no entry may be re moved before that time. .Tea will be served. Extension Units Slate Attorney Robert B. Duncan, Medford attorney, will explain the 1959 income tax provision chang ing the base tax on personal income, which will appear on the November ballot, to mem bers of the. Medford Parents extension unit on Thursday, March 24th,' at 7:30 p.m. The group will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. K. Wil liam Jensen, 53 Rose avenue. Members of Winchester and Wilson Park units will be special guests, and husbands and friends of members are cordially invited to attend this meeting. Refreshments will be served. The Dallas manufacturers, showing visiting reporters their summer collections of town and sportswear, didn't bother. So this observer pro duced her own label. It is the ventilated look the best way I can describe the cottons or blends of cot tons and synthetics which are cool in color and construction. In color, white, black and white combinations, mist and celery green, and the blue greens dominate. As for con struction, the manufacturers in this air-conditioned metro polis give us in the rest of the country a break for sum mer with full skirts, sleeve less tops, tops often baring the shoulders and held up only by string straps, and overblouses which allow for ventilation around the waistline. Fabrics themselves are as cool as the garment industry, third in size in the nation, has yet been .able to find them - lightweight ginghams, seersuckers, eyelets, voiles, batistes and piques. In addi tion to separates, this firm showed a new version of a dacron synthetic which looks, feels and dyes like silk but washes readily. Jo Juniors. Hope Evans, a 1952 graduate of the South ern Methodist University De sign school, featured the "split level" look-another way to describe a skirt with tunic, or top with mock bolero. One influence of the French ac tress Brigitte Bardot showed in a checked gingham, with a three-tier skirt, gathered for fullness. Salute to Hawaii Parkland. This Texas firm looked to our newest state for inspiration and came up with block prints in the Hawaiian ti leaf motif. L o r c h Manufacturing.
