Sail Sz" only 49' By MARGARET BELL In which we follow the beautiful movie queen (at jet-like speed) through a day as madly unpredictable as she is Spending one entire day with Zsa Zsa Gabor, this reporter discovered, is like spinning around on a carousel. There's a blur of hundreds of people, plus television cameras, cluttered dressing rooms, cars darting in and out of traffic, and through it all the image of Zsa Zsa, unruffled and beautiful, chattering away on a variety of subjects ranging from her superstitions ("Never put your hat on my bed, darling") to her housekeeping ("I'm a wonderful housekeeper: every time I'm divorced, I keep the house"). On this particular day, Zsa Zsa was stay ing at ex-husband Conrad Hilton's Plaza Hotel in New York. Soon after she awoke at 9 a.m., famed hair stylist Enrico Caruso and an assistant were busily arranging her blonde tresses that won her the title of the woman with the world's best-dressed hair. As they worked, Zsa Zsa wore out the phone talking with agents, producers, man agers, publicity men, and suitors. Just as we were settling down, she chose a Dior dress from a bulging wardrobe, de cided on the mink to go with it ("I don't know how many minks I own, darling; sweet men are always giving them to me") , and within five minutes she was dashing to the elevator, trailed by a puffing entourage. We rushed to a radio studio for a five minute recording, back to the hotel and out again to walk her toy Yorkshire terrier, Mr. Magoo, back to the hotel while Caruso arranged a jet-black wig which she had selected, then to a television studio where she taped an appearance on the Jack Paar Show with only a 15-minute interval be fore an ensuing stint on Dick Clark's "World of Talent" Somehow, within those 15 minutes, she managed to travel 20 blocks uptown in a chauff eured limousine, change dresses, doff the black wig for a shimmer ing silver one, and have 30 seconds left over before the Clark show started. Somewhere along the line we had picked up Gerold Frank, who is ghostwriting her autobiography. We were more than happy to let him take up her life story while we went home to bed. It's too much to ask one reporter to make it through a whole day with Zsa Zsa. 11 ill i i a) - v ; - l vj With chameleon-like magic, she changes her costume and her wig, silver this time, only seconds before she is to go on Dick Clark's "World of Talent" show, proving once more that a beauty in any guise is still a beauty. 16 Family Weekly, March 13, I960 -.: .. , : 1 . . ' 'J Discreetly watching with the observant eye of a top ghost writer, Gerold Frank gathers notes for what's certain to be a fabulous autobiography.
