My husband just left one day to go to work, and never came back. He left me with two little children. He's about 11 years older than I, and I married him when I was just out of the eighth grade, and 14 years old, really not old nough to marry. But due to his knowledge, he was able to persuade me and my folks it would be a wonderful life. It was at times, and I miss kim very much. I think he fSll in love with another, is Vhy he left us. I wasn't able to work out and pay for a laby sitter, so the welfare tok care of us. In about a ysr or so, I met what I thought was a . wonderful fuy. He was nice to my chil dren and he asked me to ntrry him, and I wanted to, until one night he raped me cause I wouldn't give in to him, and to add to my shame, I became pregnant, and he left town after he'd raped me. The welfare was good snough to take care of me and my new baby and the two others. The years have gone by and I met and mar ried a really swell guy. We had two children of our own and he treats all our children the same. I'm so glad I could have some children for him. It wouldn't have been such a wonderful life, as it has been, otherwise. I hope some of you will understand, we're not all dirty and slums, but circum stances sometimes mess up our lives for a while. I've al , ways had a clean house and children, and I've tried to raise them right. There's just this I would like to add. I wish there was an education program for those on welfare who would like to receive an education. Those checks don't stretch even far enough to go to the adult education, at high school at night and even if they did, there's not enough for baby sitter, so unless, one can remarry, there's not very much hope. I still haven't any educa tion, and it isn't because I'm dumb, it's the way everything has happened. Perhaps some one could look into this to help those who'd like to be able to make their own way. Mrs. Medford Korean Orphan Appeal To the Editor: I would like to make an appeal to Christians,- Sunday school classes or any church or women's group to sponsor a needy Ko rean orphan. For only $8 a month for 6 months, a year, or as long as you want you may sponsor one of these needy orphans and bring the gospel to him. besides supply ing him with his physical needs. Please prayerfully con sider this appeal. Sponsors are urgently needed there are still hundreds of orphans roaming the streets, exposed to the severest weather, naked, starving, unwanted and unloved. These are all homeless, des titute youngsters, cared for in Korea by Korean oeople in Everett Swanson Evangelistic Association. Seven years ago, Mr. Swanson saw the heart felt need in Korea and with lots of compassion and very little money, established the first orphanage, and from that grew 41 such homes. Great emphasis is placed upon their spiritual needs training them to become Christian leaders. These Korean people are very humble and become very dedicated, zealous Chris tians bearing much fruit. I'm sure any person or group desiring to sponsor one of these orphans would be richly blessed. The Bible says "Faith without words is dead" ."If a brother or sis ter be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you sa;- unto the m Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; Notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body, what doth it profit?" Also it says. "Pure religion and undefiled before God, is to visit the fatherless and wi dows in their afflictions'. So we know it is God's will for us to take care of these needy orphans. For we in America . are rich and how hard for a rich man to enter the king dom of heaven.
