A spring fashion prevue is presented each year by League members, with the proceeds going towards the mainte nance of the kindergarten for hard-of-hearing children, the League's special project. Dill ree, 2871 Orchard Home drive, in rites held Saturday, February 13, at the First Pres byterian church. Dr. D. Kirkland West per formed the double-ring cere mony, held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon before approximate ly 100 relatives and friends. Mr. Chisum gave his daugh ter in marriage. Her waltz length gown was of white slip per satin with a Chantilly lace overskirt and a matching lace jacket. Her elbow-length veil was held by a white satin cir cle edged with tiny pearls. She carried a white orchid en circled by white hyacinths. Miss Raydene Chisum, sis ter of the bride, was maid of honor and Mrs. Ronald Daugh erty, Corvallis, was brides matron. They wore full-skirted ballerina-length gowns of peach colored taffeta with or gandy balloon sleeves. Their headpieces were circlets of peach net and they carried bouquets of white carnations and hyacinths. William Dillree was best man for his brother. Jack Rinn and Paul Smith seated the guests. Baskets of peach gladiolus and white stock decorated the sanctuary and reception hall. Mrs. Robert A. Sheldon played the traditional wed ding music. The Rev. G. Rob ert Jacks was soloist. For her daughter's wed ding, Mrs. Chisum wore a blue lace sheath dress with matching lace jacket and black accessories. Mrs. Dillree chose a white silk dress with floral pattern worn with turquoise colored duster which matched the colors of the floral pattern, and matching accessories. Both mothers had corsages of pale yellow rosebuds. Following the ceremony, the reception, given by the bride's parents, was held at the church. Mrs. R. L. Chisum and MrsI C. E. Chisum, aunts of the bride, served the wed ding cake which was decorat ed by Mrs. J. A- Maehren. Mrs. Robert Cocks, aunt of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Miss Linda Chis um, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. After a brief honeymoon trip the bride and bridegroom will be at home at 236 North Oakdale avenue, Apt. 2. For her traveling attire, the bride chose a beige sheath , with matching jacket. The bride and bridegroom Jacklyn Creager At Smarty Party Eugene - Miss Jacklyn Lee Creager, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Creager, 27 Glen Oak court, Medford, was one of 149 freshman women who were honored for scholarship when they were invited to the Smarty Party of Mortar Board, senior women's honor society which took place re cently. A grade point average of 3.0 or higher for twelve term hours during their first term on the University of Oregon campus is necessary in order for a college woman to be in vited to the Smarty Party. Miss Creager is majoring in elementary education. Medford Woman Sails for South Mrs, H. E. Prentice left Wednesday by plane for San Francisco from where she sailed for Panama. Mrs. Pren-J tice and Mrs. I. E. schuler, who left Medford earlier, boarded the Norwegian' ship, The Canada, for the 10-day cruise to Panama City. From there the two women will fly to Guatemala and later Mrs. Prentiqe will go to Mexico City before returning home. She will be absent a month, and Mrs. Schuler for a longer period. Mrs. Pren tice's home on South Oakdale avenue will be occupied dur ing her absence. - H Chapter AA, PEO Sister hood, will meet at the home of Mrs. R. W. Sleeter, 39 Berkeley Way, Wednesday, February 24, at 12:30 o'clock. Mrs. John P. Moffat an4 Mrs. Francis R. Olds will as sist the hostess. are both graduates of Phoenix High school. The bride attend ed gputbern . Oregon college and is employed in the office at Crater Lake Motors. Her husband is employed by Drake and company. Among out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Haygood and son Tom, Carlotta, Calif., and Fred Simons, grandfather of the bridegroom, from Mol lala, Ore. A buffet dinner was given by the bridegroom's parents following the wedding rehear sal. A bridal shower was given January 29 by Mrs. Robert Cocks, aunt of the bride. Thirty guests were present. Newlyweds Make Home In Applegate Mr. and Mrs.' Merton Neil Stoner are 'making- their home in Applegate following their wedding January 24 in Torrance, Calif. The bride is the former Miss Donita Dorothy Warner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Warner, Torrance, and the bridegroom, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Stoner, Ap plegate. The double-ring service was performed by Pastor Lloyd Warneke in Ascension Luth eran church- An estimated 70 guests attended. Miss Patricia Cordle was soloist. The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a street-length gown of white satin brocade and Chantilly lace. Her cascade bouquet was of white roses and lilies of the valley. ' . Miss Christine Warner, who was maid of honor for her sis ter, wore a gown of pink, sat in brocade and carried a cas cade bouquet of pink roses. Douglas Irvine was best man and James. Dosland, In glewood, and Melvin Younk er, Redondo Beach, cousin of the bride, were ushers. A reception for the newly weds was held at the church. The bride and bridegroom attended Torrance High school and he is now associated with his father in Stoner and Sons Poultry supply. , Showers Honor Antoinette Cote Central Point Miss Antoi nette Cote has been honored at two recent parties. Miss Cote, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Cote, 1847 Scenic avenue, is the fiance of Les ter Stephen Walker of Talent, and their wedding is set for Saturday, February 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Medford, at 12 noon. The Misses Kathleen and Jrene McGowan -were host esses February 16 at a party which honored Miss Cote. The event was held at the Mc Gowan borne, 2525 Howard avenue, and decorations were in red and white, the colors which the bride has chosen for her wedding. The bride- elect was presented gifts for her new home. Another shower was given for Miss Cote by fellow work ers at the Craterian theater, It was held at the theater an hqur before the evening show. Reno, Ne vada on St. Valentine's Day, The couple are vacationing in the Lake Mead recreation area, including Las Vegas and Death Valley, and will visit briefly at Squaw Valley on the return trip. SP 2-6526 Mrs. Merton Open House On Fortieth Central Point-Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gossard of Central Point were honored at an open house Sunday, February 14, which celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary. Hostesses for the event were the Gossard's three daugh ters, Mrs. Alvin Roberts, Mrs. Dean Roberts and Mrs. Dale Cobleigh. About 65 guests called. The open house was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Roberts. : Mrs. Roberts had decorated her home in pink and white for the event, using pink and white carna tions and pink tapers on the long table which was covered with a white tablecloth fash ioned of alternating squares oi lace anq efnoroflery, The anniversary cakes, were decorated in pink and white and a crystal bowl held pink punch. Mrs. Harvey Cassman served the cake and Mrs. R. B. Langston presided at the punch bowl. Miss Judy Rob erts was in charge of the guest book. For the occasion, Mrs. Gas sard was gowned in a rose lace dress worn with a cor sage of white carnations. On display with the bride's book and pictures was the tunic of her weddine eown which she and her mother had made. The material is quite unusual.
