White, director of Hollywood's self imposed advertising .code, said that with a few excep tions movie ads were within "reasonable bounds of decen cy and morality." He made the statement in testimony prepared for a House Post Office subcommittee investi gating whether Hollywood's self-policing program should be tougher. The subcommittee has received complaints that some films and movie ads are too sexy. Communists: Benjamin J. Davis jumped up from his seat in ly to reason with an unreason able wife. Her statments left Finch still in trouble. Says Finch 'Dazed' Ruled out of evidence was her subsequent admission that she carried a "murder kit" up the driveway to the Finch home. Ignored was the testi mony of convict John Patrick Cody that the doctor and Car ole hired him for $1,400 to kill Mrs. Finch. But Carole did offer an ex planation for Finch. She said they had gone to the home unarmed. Mrs. Finch drew a gun and pointed it at Carole, she said. Finch "jumped" for ward to disarm his wife. Car ole fled and saw no more though she heard Finch say ing "please" and the sound of two gunshots. Carole said she had become panicky. She hid in the bushes nearby for six hours until she finally slipped away and fled back to Las Vegas where she found Finch with no memory whatsoever of shooting his wife. "He was dazed," she said. Whether the jury believes that story depends largely on the one that Finch tells. But there was no question Carole and Finch have moved a num ber of steps away from Cali- j fornia's gas chamber. - I 7kh h neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of on offer o buy any of these securities.
