Washington Huskies Bop Oregon Webf oots 63-56 Seattle - (UPD - The Univer sity of Washington Huskies, led by Bill Hanson and Clint Names, defeated the Oregon Ducks, 63-56, in a non-conference basketball game here Friday night. Hanson, hitting 11 out of 16 shots from the field, had 23 points, while Names got 17 before fouling out. (UPD San Francisco Ken Venturi took a two-stroke lead after three rounds in the Bing Cros by golf tournament Saturday with a 54-hole score of 209. Venturi posted nines of 35 33 for a 68 at the Cypress Point course mid-way in the day. Then he sweated out some erratic shot-making by a half-dozen men who had a chance to catch him but fail ed. Gene Littler, the first day co -leader from San Diego, had the best crack at it. Four under par with a 33 on the first nine at Cypress, Gene faded in the back stretch and came in with a 71 for a 211 -good for second place. The Jacksonville club will at tend the next meeting, which will be held Feb. 19 at 7:30 pan. at the Antelope school house. The Dairy club was in charge of the program and the theme was "Selecting, Raising, and Growing the -Calf to Production Age." Par ticipants in the program were Steve Geren, Rick Anderson, Bobby Hubbard, Karen Jossy, Paulette Anderson, Donna Geren, and Georgia Hubbard. The beef club will be in charge of the next program. After the program, songs and games were led by the lead ers. Refreshments were ; served. Georgia Hubbard, Reporter Missouri Ends Loss Streak : Columbia, Mo. - (UPD - The Missouri Tigers ended a two game losing streak by thump ing the Tulsa Hurricanes 84 74 here Saturday night. The Bengals shot 56 per cent for the game with only one player, sub-Walt Grebing, shooting less than 50 per cent. He took only one shot. The win gave Missouri an 8-7 record for the season and was its sixth victory at home against one loss. There were 20 people at' the meeting, 7 guests and 13 club members. Record books and 4-H signs were passed out. Girls were asked to have material ready to start their ; projects by the next meeting. Our leader showed us how , to mitre a corner. Meetings were set up for the coming year. The next meeting will be at Linda Pittock's at 7:30 p.m., Feb 1.
