A' Sunday, Jan. 17, 1960 Club Books Swiss Yodeler "An Adventure in Unique Entertainment" will be taken by members of the Rogue River Valley Knife and Fork club Wednesday, January 27, at the Rogue Valley Country club. Toni Gauer, yodeler teach er, lecturer and musician, will be guest for the evening. Mr. Gauer, who plays 18 Swiss instruments, will ap pear in colorful costume. He has prepared a book on Swiss folk music for Ohio Wesley an university. Reservations for the 6:45 pjn. dinner must be mailed to Mrs. Richard House, 15 Corning court, prior to Mon day, January 25. ' Province Officer Of Pi Beta Phi To Visit Here Mrs. Horace Vanasse, Seat tle, vice president of Omicron province, Alumni of Pi Beta Phi, will speak at a meeting Wednesday, January 20, at 8 p.m. The event will be held at the home of Mrs. Stuart McQueen, 2136 Hillcrest road. Mrs. Vanasse, who directs the work of 20 alumni clubs in Oregon, Washington, Ida ho, British Columbia, and Al berta, will speak of the van ous activities of the organiza tion. All Pi Beta Phi alumni in the area, whether affiliated with the local club or not, are invited to attend the meeting, according to Mrs. Elliott Mac Cracken, president. - Hostesses' assisting Mrs. Mc Queen will be Mrs. Houston L. The Andersons, spending their fourth season in the Valley of the Sun, will return to their Oregon home in May concluding a six-months vaca tion here. Holzapfel, Shedd, Ore., at Sacred Heart Catholic church here. The double-ring ceremony was held at four o'clock in the afternoon with the Rev. William McLeod of ficiating. The bride, a daughter of Mrs. Charles Lee Carter, Oceanside, Calif., has made her home at 1288 South Co lumbus avenue. The bride groom is the son of Mrs. Fred Holzapfel of Shedd. Red poinsettias and white chrysanthemums decorated the church for the wedding serv ice. Bruno Pellegrini was at the church organ. The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin with bodice of rose point lace. The three quarter length sleeves were flared and the billowing skirt ended in a chapel length puff ed train. Her finger-tip length illusion veil was held by a high Danish bride's pearl crown made by the bride and she carried an arm bouquet of white roses. Under her dress the bride wore an heir loom petticoat handmade by her great-grandmother. Miss Noreen Kelly was hon or attendant, serving for the bride's sister, Mrs. Lynn Hel geson, Velva, N.D., who could not come to Medford for the wedding. Miss Kelly wore a red chiffon gown with match ing shoes and feather hat and carried a small arm bouquet of white roses. Willard McLagan, Albany, Ore., was best man for the bridegroom and ushers were Donald Nichols, Ashland, and Robert Wilson, Lebanon, Ore. The reception which fol lowed was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Valton Fin ley, 1327 Reddy avenue. Red roses and tall white tapers decorated the serving table. Mrs. Rollin Jones and Mrs. Louis Rentz poured coffee and Mrs. John Gustafson served punch. Mrs. Donald Nichols, Ashland, cut the wedding cake, made by Mrs. Jones. Miss Carol Horsley and Miss Norma Hague took charge of the guest book and Mrs. Ward Brookwell the gifts. Mrs. James Wells played piano music. Mrs. Lucian Van Gordon assisted Mrs. Finley as hostess. For the wedding and recep tion the bride's mother wore a sown of cerulean blue with matching hat and. gloves and m-ev furs. Her corsage was small, white rosebuds. The bridegroom's mother wore a gown of rose lace with white hat and gloves and her flow ers were white rosebuds. . The weddnig refreshments included such Scandinavian delicacies as krumkake and rosettes made by the bride. The newlyweds traveled south for their honeymoon, the bride wearing an ensem ble of winter white wool with hat of roses and accessories of cherry red. They will live near Shedd where the bride groom is a farmer. The bride, who came to Medford three years ago from Dickenson, N.D., has been Jackson county extension agent in home economics. She is a graduate of North Dakota State college, Fargo.- ; Mr. Holzapfel is a graduate of Oregon State college. Valentine Ball Princess Named Mrs. Howard Berg will rep resent Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi as a prin cess for the annual valentine ball. It will be held February 13 at Rogue Valley Country club. Mrs. Berg was chosen at the last meeting of the chap ter, held at the home of Mrs. Walter Smith. Mrs. Fred Wil son presided; Mrs. Joe Sayre served refreshments. The chapter will take charge of reservations for the ball. Newlyweds Make Home In Medford Mr. and Mrs. John William Harvey are making their home in Medford following their wedding in Casa View Methodist church, Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Harvey is the former Linda Carol Harns berger, daughter of Mrs. T. J. Harnsberger, 315 Lozier lane, and the late Mr. Harns berger. Mr. Harvey's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey, 1501 Startford Way. The Rev. Wilfred Bailey officiated at the eight o'clock evening ceremony held De cember 28. Plans for a Med ford wedding were canceled due to the death of the bride's father. Members of the couple's families attended the single ring rites. The bride wore a white taffeta floor length gown for the ceremony with fingertip length veil. She carried a bouquet of white carnations. Eirbie Sterling, Dallas, grand father of the bride, gave her in marriage. The bride attended Medford High school and Robertson's School of Business. She is em ployed by the county asses sor's office in the Jackson County courthouse. Mr. Har vey attended Medford High school and is a student at Southern Oregon college. Art Exhibit Set Today A number of adult and junior students of Eugene Bennett will exhibit work this afternoon at the Bennett studios, South Grape street. Two Girl Scouts Named Alternates Miss Judy Sims of Girl Scout Troop 151, and Miss Gayle Hayden of Troop 131, have been selected as all state alternates to a Girl Scout "wilderness experimen tal summer" camp to be held in the Bend area this year. Two girls from each state are selected as delegates by the regional selections com mittee, it was reported, with 100 girls to participate in the camp. Mrs. Richard Finch is lead er of Troop 151 and Mrs. Gerald Foote, Grants Pass, of Troop 131. Blind, 127 Valley View drive. The couple were married January 2 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Reno, Nevada, at three o'clock in the after noon. The bride is the former Marjorie Helen Blind and Mr. Raffelly's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Raffelly, Franklin, N.H. Miss Charlene Moore, Rose- burg, will cut the cake for the afternoon reception and Mrs. Robert Sproul, cousin of the bride, will preside at the punch bowl. Mrs. Ronald Blind, Eugene, sister-in-law of the bride, will pour coffee and Mrs. Lee Campbell, Klamath Falls, will be in charge of the guest book. For the wedding, the new ' Mrs. . She i is a graduate of the Univer sity of Oregon where she ma jored in business adminis tration and is employed as a secretary for Robert Dickey, Medford lawyer. Mr. Raf felly attended Franklin, N.H., schools and served in the U.S. Navy. He is employed by T. W. McFadden.
