Auxiliary Cancels Camp White Dance Ladies' auxiliary to the Vet erans of Foreign Wars an nounces that the dance planned for Monday at Camp White has been canceled. January 18 a "hard times" dance will be given at the eamp, with prizes for the best costumes. Harmony Club Plans Meeting Wednesday Plans for the coming months will be discussed at a meeting of the Townsend Har mony club auxiliary Wednes day, January 6. Mrs. Mae Olin was honored with a birthday cake at last week's meeting. A penny march and readings from the group adjourned the meeting. Dancing followed. BOTH one wears CONTACTS! Stevie, 2570 Victory lane, a daughter and granddaughter, were in the news recently in two widely separated parts of the United States. A granddaughter of the Medford, couple, Miss Anne Waldron, daughter of Sgt. and Mrs. Ralph E. Waldron, Vandenberg Air Force base, Calif., was named Civil Air Patrok cadet of the month for October. The Stevie's daughter, Mrs. Thayer C. (Pauline) Kessler, recently joined the staff of Northwest Orient Airlines at the office in Anchorage, Alas ka. Miss Waldron, also a niece of Mrs. A. E. Brockway, 2325 Stewart avenue, is active in the Vandenberg Squadron 101 of the California Wing of the CAP and the Senior Girl Scouts at Vandenberg. For her selection as cadet of the month Miss Waldron was presented a trophy. Re cently members of the Senior Girl Scouts were guests of the SAC Aero club and the First Missile division for a tour of the base operation and a ride in one of the club's aircraft. Mrs. Kessler is a graduate of Medford High school and worked for the Civil Aeronou tics administration in Alaska since 1943. Mr. Kessler is employed by the Federal Av iation agency (successor to the CAA). One of the couple's two daughters is married and lives in Alaska, the other is taking nurse's training at Sa cred Heart hospital, Eugene. Prees Leave Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pree have left for Tucson, Ariz., where they will spend the winter months. The Prees made the trip south with their house trailer and they will live near Mr. and Mrs. Clair Rifenber ick, Mrs. Pree's brother and sister-in-law. They plan to be away about three months. - rfe:Q:f Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Carl Reitman (Landis photo) , Kaye Frances Christian d to Lynn Carl Reitman Miss Kaye Frances Christian, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Christian, 340 Mae street, became the bride of Lynn Carl Reitman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Max Reitman, Eugene, in a ceremony held December 29 at First Presbyterian church. Dr. D. Kirkland West and the Rev. John O. Reynolds of ficiated at the double ring ceremony attended by 60 rela tives and friends. White chry santhemums and candelabra decorated the church for the 8 o'clock evening rites. Otis Swisher was soloist. The scoop neckline was trimmed with seed pearls and her waist length veil was held by a lace cap. She carried a bouquet of cream colored rosebuds encircling a white orchid. Miss Sherril Christian was honor attendant for her sis ter and bridesmaids were Miss Carol Dyke and Miss Sandra Laing. They wore emerald green v elv e t sheath dresses with matching headbands and carried white fur muffs trimmed with holly. Clarence Neville, Prospect, served as best man and seat ing the guests were Robert McNutt, Eugene, and Robert Gewiss. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Christian chose a blue print silk frock with blue and black accessories and a cor sage of pink rosebuds. Mrs. Reitman wore a brown silk print with green accessories and her corsage was of yel low roses. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Michael Cham bers and Miss Billie Woods cut and served the wedding cake. Miss Denise Bruning and Mrs. Floyd Norton pre sided at the punch bowls. Miss Deanne Reitman, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book. The couple traveled to San Francisco on their wedding trip. For traveling the bride wore a teal blue suit with brown accessories and a white orchid corsage. They are mak ing their home at Corvallis. The bride attended Med ford High school and South ern Oregon college and was employed as a clerk for J. C. Penney company. Mr. Reit man attended South Eugene High school and Southern Oregon college. He will be a student at Oregon State col lege. Superintendent To Be Speaker Dr. Leonard Mayfield, sup erintendent of Medford Pub lic schools, will report on his trip to Russia at a meeting of Griffin Creek ParenWeacher association Thursday,. January 7, at 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. A choral number by a group of students will be pre sented. Mothers of Mrs. Judy Hucks' room will serve re freshments. Mrs. Don Bryan and Mrs. Marjorie Martin are in charge. The PTA rummage sale was reported to have been a big success and those in charge have expressed their thanks for the help of mem bers. Member to Bake Scones for Club President Keith Witt of Rogue yalley Coin club an nounces that the club will meet Monday, January 4, at 8 p.m. at Girls Community club. As a special treat, R. E. McElhose will bake scones which will be served "hot from the oven" for the mem bership. Visitors are welcome to attend. Woods-Neff Ceremony Held In Girls Comm unity Club We Give GREEN STAMPS CENTRAL REXALL DRUG 'Main and Central Miss Shirley Neff , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Neff, 2172 West Main street, became the bride of John Woods, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Woods, Dexter, Ore., in a ceremony held December 19, at the Girls Community club. The Rev. Clarence Jackson of the Central Point Pilgrim Holiness church officiated at the seven, o'clock evening rites. Baskets of white chrys anthemums and pink carna tions decorated the room for the wedding. Muss Juda Car ver played the piano and Mrs. Ray Robinson, sister of the bride, was soloist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown and her fingertip length veil was held by a rhinestone crown. She car ried four white and pink cym bidium orchids on a white Bible with streamers knotted with lily of the valley. Miss Janice Robinson was maid of honor and brides maids were Miss Sharon Eas ton and Miss Lynda Carver. Flower girls were Beckie Car ver and Beckie Millard, Rose burg, niece of the bride. They wore pastel taffeta frocks and carried bouquets of pink baby roses and white carnations. Candelighters were Miss Nancy Robinson and Dennis Robinson. . David McFarden, San Fran cisco, served as best man and groomsmen were Charles Woods, Dexter, brother of the bridegroom, and Raymond Neff, brother of the bride. Ushers were Kenneth Moul ton, Paul Roby and Don Roby. Master Point Play Announced The monthly master point play session of the Riverside Duplicate Bridge club will be held Wednesday, January 6, at the Girls Community club. Mrs. Fred Burich and Mrs. W. W. Stevenson, scoring 95V points in the north-south position, and Mrs. William Knope and Mrs. Sam Richard son with IOIV2 points in the east-west position, were first in last Wednesday's play. Other high scores in the north-south position were won by Mrs. John Dougherty and Mrs. Sam Van Dyke, second, 95; and Mrs. Yvonne Dalen and Mrs. John Hesdorfer, third, 94. ' Top scores in the east-west position were won by Berg Marten and E. K. Ricker, sec ond, 93V2; and Mrs. Hugh Col lins and Mrs. Richer, third, 85. , 4 Mrs. Frank Little To Be Club Hostess Reames Past Matrons' club will meet at the home of Mrs. Frank Little, 1602 East Jack son boulevard at 12:30 p.m. Monday, January 4. Luncheon will be served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Helen Consbrook, Mrs. Jack Ward and Mrs. John Smith. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the club. Miss Susan Hurt and Miss Carolyn Breazealle cut and served the wedding cake and Miss Kathy Moulton and Miss Dena Brown presided at the punch bowls. Pouring coffee were Mrs. Earnest Hurt and Miss Kay Frohreich. Miss Claudia Owens was in charge of the guest book. The couple traveled to Seat tle on their wedding trip where they will make their home. For traveling the bride wore a white suit with brown accessories. The bride groom is serving with, the U.S. Navy. Among the out of town guests were Rodney Millard, Roseburg, brother - in - law of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Perkins, Hood River. -4 Family Holds Reunion Here A family reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Thrun, 121 Kenwood avenue, over the Christmas holidays. Here for the event were Mrs. Thrun's mother, Mrs. Charles Plueard and son, Charles; Mr. and Mrs. Charles O'Rourke and children, Billy- Joe and Nancy, all of Cottage Grove; Mr. and Mrs. Howard W r ig h t and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wright, Crescent City, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. William H. Wright Jr., and three chil dren, Katy, Suzy and Bill; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Wright and two children, Wilbur and Mary-Jo. Orick, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Smith and four children, Kerry, Randy, Brian and Vienna, Creswell, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tull and four children, Law rence, Mary, Jacqueline and Ramona, Myrtle Creek, Ore Mr. and Mrs. James Steele and daughter, Phyllis, Medford, and Jack Ervin, Roseburg. The group included 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren of Mrs. Plue ard. Three sons, five grand children and 4 great-grandchildren were unable to at tend the reunion. Student to Speak For PEO Chapter Two chapters of the PEO Sisterhood will hold meetings this week. Chapter BE will meet in the home of Mrs. Ann Wirk kula, 157 Highland drive, Tuesday, January 5, at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Robert Butler will be her assisting hostess. Mrs. Ernest Leavitt will present the program. Chapter CG will meet for lunch at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 6 at the home of Mrs. R. E. Mencke, 2141 East Jackson boulevard. Mrs. Fred L. Chez and Mrs. S. R. Mosh er will be co-hostesses. Miss Carolyn Mencke, daughter of the hostess, who spent the summer months in Finland as an exchange stud- ent, will present the program.
