Sidney Zagri, legislative representative for the union, who has been presenting the teamsters' political education master plan to similar confer ences across the nation, was to address the morning session here. Insurance Plan Approved Wednesday, the officials an nounced approval of a new lower-cost group life insur ance program for . members of its Western Conference lo-1 cals. Conference President Einar Mohn said that Occidental Life Insurance Co. of Cali fornia had won out over six other bidders for the right to carry the plan on a no service or broker fee basis. ' Acceptance of the plan will be voted on by locals through out the conference. - Mohn said that the negoti ated rate of 52 cents per $1,000 policy (based on 200, 000 policies) was the "lowest ever obtained." For Active Members - Mohn said the plan would be limited to active members of the union. Another plan, which would include coverage of eligible retired teamsters, was also proposed. Its cost was quoted as 67 cents per thou sand dollars. An executives' health and welfare plan, which would in sure all employees of local unions, ioint councils, trade divisions and the western di vision, was also announced. North American Life and Cas ualty Company was named carrier of the executives' plan. Grange News Upper Rogue Grange Uter Rogue Grange met Dec. 8 with Master Eda Tor rance presiding. Guests at the meeting were Dr. and Mrs, Ed Durno. Bob Bush and Mrs. Grant Hubbel. During the , lecture hour, Dr. Durno spoke ."on taxes and legislative pro - eedure. t " The Grange Christmas par ty will be held Dec. 17 at the ; Grange hall, starting with a potluck supper at '6:30 p.m. Meat will be furnished by the Grange, and members are asked to take vegetables, sal ads and deserts. The Home Economics club .will have its Christmas par ity and gift exchange today with Mrs. Minnie Eastin and Mrs. Rick Eastin in charge. Servine committee included ; Mr. and Mrs. V. Chapman and Mr. and Mrs. J. Joseph on. . Lake Creek Grange Lake Creek Grange is giv ing a dance-at the hall Satur day, Dec. 12. The dances are . proving popular. Everyone is Invited to attend. Refresh ments will be served by the home economics committee. Eagle Point Grange ', Eagle Point Grange met recently with 33 members at tending. C. C. Hoover, reporting on agriculture, said 1,425 head of cattle were sold at the Mid wav auction recently, and gave the current price trends for livestock and feed. Cliff Moore, reporting on dairy, said that the national stockpile of surplus dairy products is now less than it was at this time last vear. ' W. E. Davis, ways and means committee chairman, said that two films, "History of the Helicooter" and "How an Airplane Flies," and pic tures taken by Mr. and Mrs Harold Barbour of Upper Rogue Grange on their Euro pean trip were shown at a recent meeting. HEC chairman, Winnie Brown, announced that the npvt meetine will be a pot luck dinner. Those, attending are asked to bring table serv ice. Lecturer Cliff Moore an meed that the annual Christmas party will be held soon. Election of state Grange pf- ficers was held, along with an election for an assistant stew ard and steward, to which Tnm Vestal and Percy Scanie . were elected. A demit was granted to Lattie Cincaid for wo Central Point Grange. A discussion regarding plans being made by Pomona Grange for an all-day celebra tion was discussed.
