Kiwanian Dames Cancel Session Kiwanian Dames announce that the regular luncheon and business meeting will not be held during the month of De cember. Instead members will be guests of their husbands at the Kiwanis club luncheon De cember 9 at Rogue Valley Country club. Mrs. John R. Dellenback, chairman of the Kiwanian. Dames rummage sale and her committee, Mrs. Raymond S. Wise, Mrs. Wayne Struble, Mrs. John L. Raapke and Mrs. Arthur M. Savard, state that plans for the sale are complet ed. It will be held Friday, De cember 11, at the Fehl build ing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds are to be used to purchase a high speed drill for the Dental clinic sponsored by the Kiwanis club. It has been pointed out that more chil dren can be served by the Dental clinic through use of a high speed dental drill. Christmas Baskets vMedford unit of the Ameri can Legion auxiliary will meet Tuesday, December 8, at 8 p.m. at the Legion home, 531 Edwards street. Members are requested to bring items of food to be used for the Christmas baskets. This is a yearly project under the leadership of Mrs. H. C. Goldsmith and Mrs. Merle Jar-j min. Rasmussen, Fern Valley road, were honored at a reception and family reunion November 27 in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. The event was held at First Assembly of God church an nex between 6:30 and 9 o'clock in the evening, and about 100 attended. A program of music was presented, the numbers hav ing been arranged by Wallace Rasmussen, a son of the couple. Mrs. Agnes Thornton, a niece, and Mrs. Delbert Johnson, a daughter, were pianists. A quarter composed of James Nilsen, Gerald Les lie, Donald Jacobs and Don ald Rasmussen, a grandson, sang. Also heard in solos were Mr. Southwick and Edwin Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Leslie presented a duet. J. M. Harrel Jr., a son-in-law, read a poem which had been written for the occa sion by the Rev. James E. Ras mussen, a brother of William Rasmussen. Vernon V. Rasmussen, eld est son of the couple, visited in Norway and Denmark for three months last summer and took pictures in the birth places of both parents. These and other colored slides of the trip were shown during the evening. The centerpiece for the serving table was of white pomsettias arranged with a gold colored Bible and golden candles. The anniversary cake was decorated in gold and white. Mrs. Donald Rasmus sen poured punch, Mrs. Ger ald Leslie cut the cake and Miss Hazel Hanson served cof fee. Mrs. -Herman Rasmussen was at the guest book, and Mrs. James Rasmussen presid ed at the gift table. For the event Mrs. Rasmus sen wore a gown of blue lace and crepe with an orchid corsage. The honored couple was married in Egeland, N.D., and Mrs. Lena Rasmussen, Med ford, a sister-in-law in whose home the wedding took place, was present for the anniver sary party. Also here for the event were Mrs. Annie Rasmussen, a sister-in-law, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rasmussen, nephew, Wenatchee, Wash. The Rasmussen's eight chil dren, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren were all 1 present. Their sons and daughters, with their wives and hus bands, are Mr. and Mrs.' Ver non V. Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace W. Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Evan E. Rasmus sen, all Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert E. Johnson, Tal ent; Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Rasmussen, Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. James J. Rasmussen, Sepulveda, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. George Southwick, Gre nada Hills, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Harrell Jr., Reseda, Calif. A family reunion was held Thanksgiving day at Ping's Gardens, with 41 present. The honored couple came to Medford in 1945 from Los An geles and have lived since at Route 3, Box 222, Fern Val ley road. Mr. Rasmussen has worked as an electrician and carpenter. Mrs. Rasmussen is a native pf Tonsberg, Norway, and her husband was born at Ringe, Denmark. . Buffet Dinner And Installation Set For Nurses Officers for the coming year will be installed by Or egon Nurses association, Dis trict 4, following a buffet din ner at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, at Girls Com munity club. A short business session is scheduled. Members are to bring arti cles for a Christmas basket. All registered nurses are invited. Ceremony At Church' Weds Couple Miss Helen M. DeCarlow became the bride of Camille S. Lloyd in a double ring ceremony held recently at First Methodist church. Dr, George G. Roseberry officiat ed at the 7:30 o'clock evening ceremony attended by 40 rela tives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. DeCarlow, 14 Hawthorne avenue. Mr Lloyd's parents are Mr. and Mrs. A. Lloyd, Phoenix. Yel low and rust colored chrysan themums decorated the church for the November 12 rites. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an af ternoon length sheath dress of taffeta brocade styled on princess lines with matching jacket. Her white hat held a short face veil and she carried a bouquet of yellow rosebuds encircling a white orchid. Mrs. Charles DeCarlow at tended her sister-in-law. She wore a yellow sheath frock with yellow accessories and carried a bouquet of yellow rosebuds. Mrs. Henry Stevens lighted the candles. She wore a yellow suit. Jack Gardner served as best I man. Seating the guests were Raymond DeCarlow, brother of the bride, and Ivan Goble, Phoenix. following tne ceremony a reception was held at the Charles DeCarlow home. Mrs Stevens and Miss Sharon Larimer cut and served the wedding cake and Miss Patty Gossman, cousin of the bride groom, and Mrs. Kenneth Bo- shears presided at the punch bowl and poured the coffee Mrs. Raymond DeCarlow. sis ter-in-law of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. The newlywed couple trav eled to San Francisco on their wedding trip, the bride wear ing for traveling a green tweed suit with white hat and black accessories. She also wore the white orchid from her bridal bouquet. The bride attended Med ford High school and is em ployed in the Credit depart ment at Sears, Roebuck and company. Mr. Lloyd attended Phoenix High school and is a seaman in the U. S. Navy. Mrs. DeCarlow is making her home in Medford until her husband is permanently as signed to .a duty station. Guild to Hold Annual Election Election of officers will be held at a meeting of West minster Guild of First Pres byterian church Monday, December 7. at the home of Mrs. Frank Hussong, 56 South Barneburg road. A Christmas program is planned. Members are asked to bring some article of staple groceries or canned food for the Christ mas basket, and Christmas wrappings to cover the pack age. During the evening the packages will be wrapped. The program and devotions will be in charge of Mrs. George Tucker and Mrs. R. A. Brewer.
