Newspaper Page TextOpen House Slated At VA Domiciliary To most people the Veter ans administration at Camp White is a large setting of buildings, landscaped and possessing a moden baseball field. They know that veterans are housed and treated there, but for the most part the buildings seem like some military camp of World War II, one of mystery and asso ciated with loneliness . and unhappiness, pain and suf fering. "Our Domiciliary is far more than that," Manager Henry C. Herzog said today, and he offered to prove it to southern Oregon and, north ern California residents on Nov. 10, when the Domicili ary holds "open house." "The administrator be lieves that veterans, their friends, and their families should have the opportunity of seeing how the Veterans administration treats the dis abled men, providing for more than just medical treat ment," Herzog explained. Organized tours will be at 10 ajn., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m with volunteer guides to es cort visitors through much of the Domiciliary. Included in Tour The tours will include a visit to the admission office where the legal determina tions are made on admitting members. In effect, visitors will follow the normal steps taken by a typical veteran be ing admitted by visiting medi cal -clinic where the prelimi nary physical examinations are conducted. Also included will be a visit to an actual ward, or section as it is called in a Domiciliary, theater, the var ious sections of physical medicine and - rehabilitation, arts and crafts area, dietetic service, canteen, medical building, library, chapel, and then to the Employees' club where refreshments will be served. ' , Work of hundreds of vol unteers who give hundreds of hours of time annually as sisting domiciled and hospi talized veterans will be dem onstrated. Domiciliary offi cers believe the open house will offer an opportunity, for veterans, their- families and friends to better understand the mission and the manner in, which the administration is attempting to carry it oujt. Other prizes went to Mrs. Lou Krauss and Ed George. ' Three Appear in District Court: ' Jesse Eutsey, 4069 r South Pacific highway, pleaded guilty in district court Thurs day to charges of assault and battery. Imposition 'ot a 30-day jail sentence was suspended by District Court Judge E. Roy Bashaw for six months and Eutsey was placed on proba tion. A 16-year-old Medford boy and James Conley DeWeered, 18, of 628 Palm st., Medford, were bound over to the grand jury Thursday in district court after pleading guilty to charges of burglary not in a dwelling. " ; They are charged with breaking into and entering the Empire Beverage com pany at 14 West Fourth st. by entering through a skylight on the roof. Both, had waived privilege of having an attor ney and preliminary hearing. They are being held in the Jackson county jail on $1,500 bail. , The youths appeared Friday afternoon in district court on charges of petty larceny. They were apprehended Tues day by Don M. Minear, route 4, Medford, and charged with taking gas from his property. Postmaster Seeks ; Owner of U. S. Bond The Medford post office has recently come into possession ofca U. S.
