BUTTE FALLS Club Resumes Sessions The October -meeting of the Butte Falls Lions auxil iary will be held Tuesday evening, Oct. 6,. at the home of Mrs. Leonard Stratton. By MARY JO HARRIS Butte Falls - With the open ing of school, Good News club has. started again. The meet ings are held every Wednes day at 2:40 pjn. at the Com munity Bible church. Stu dents wishing to attend have released time from school. - Good News club is for Child Evangelism Fellowship, and is non-denominational. Chil dren aged four years through students of the eighth grade 'are eligible to attend. Mrs. Harry Dalton is the director and teachers include Mrs. Ted Fredenburg, Mrs. Duane Burton, Mrs. Jim Ir win, Mrs. Don Jolliffe, Mrs. Louis Crammer, Mrs. Kenneth Fisher and the Rev. and Mrs. Howard Simmonds. This was the grandson's first visit to his grandparents home and the first meeting between grandson and grandfather. Mrs. Elaine Ellis and sons of Medford have been in Butte Falls this week visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. Ellis is a sister-in-law of the Bob Ellis's and Chet Ellis's and a daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Lea Ellis. Mr and Mrs. W. A. Hartle rode . have moved near the Medea shops from Medford. Al is a mechanic employed by Medco and has been commut ing between Medford and Butte Falls for the past year. Elmo Smith, Albany, will be master of ceremonies at a banquet here Friday night honoring Republican National Chair man Thruston Morton. Morton's address at 8 p.m. will be the climax of the first day activities at a two-day GOP leadership workshop. Top event on the Saturday program will be an address by Gov. Mark Hatfield. Nixon Treats Mild Virus Infection Washington (UPD Vice President Richard M. Nixon cancelled his appointments today and stayed home to re cover from a mild virus infec tion. His office said he expected to be back at work Friday, equipment and rounding up camping equipment. . . Butte Falls schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 5 and 6, for the deer hunting season, thus allowing students and teachers a chance to hunt. 4-H CLUB NEWS Wesiside Rabbitteon Our meeting was held at the home of Feme Kellow Sept. 26. The meeting was called to order by President Joyce Jo sephson and we had the flag salute. We had roll call and all members were present and we answered with a short ta'k on their project and awards at the 4-H fair. We discussed a party for Halloween and decided to have a bowling party Oct. 3. We discussed the idea of extending invitations to all our parents to attend one of our meetings. We . are expecting several new members to join the club soon. We are going to try selling candy for a candy company to earn money to buy equipment for our members to use at the next 4-H fair.
