Dr. D. Kirkland West officiated for .' the double-ring ceremony. ; v The bride's parents are Mr. , and Mrs. Crocker J. Hunter, V 50 Valley View drive, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. J and Mrs. Robert M. Cunning ? ham, Menlo Park, Calif. t More than 100 guests at ? tended the wedding and the reception which followed at ; the Hunter home. Mr. Hunter, on whose birth day the wedding was held, gave his daughter in mar . riage. She wore a traditional j gown of white taffeta design ed on princess lines with ; long-sleeved, scoop neck bod i ice and full skirt with modi fied bustle back and chapel train. -The neckline, drapery and skirt were accented with I appliques o re-embroidered I Alencon lace and pearls. -The bride's finger-tip veil of silk illusion was caught into a taf feta pill box hat ornamented with Alencon lace and pearl embroidery. Her flowers were a white orchid and stephanotis. : ; Miss Janet Carter was maid of honor and other attend ants were Mrs. Richard G. Vance, -Miss Carolyn Ficht ner, Miss Diane Lohman, Ash land, sorority sister of the bride, and Mrs. Donald E. Finney, another sorority sis ter from Klamath Fall! Ore. All the attendants wore identical ballerina length ' frocks of silk organza in min uette 2?lue styled with full skirts and balloon sleeves. Their hats of veiling and vel vet leaves matched their . frocks, and they carried bronze and gold colored .pom pon chrysanthemums. Dallas Cason, Elgin, Ore., fraternity brother, was best man for the bridegroom and . ushers were four more frater nity brothers, David G. Dyk stra, Corvallis, Donald E. Fin ney, Klamath. Falls, David DeFant, Portland, and Donald Desimini, Oregon City, r -Vi Baskets of large white chrysanthemums dec o r ated the church and sprays of flow I ers and satin bows marked the family pews. - - The Rev. Robert Jacks was soloist and Miss Sonja Peter son was organist. :v .: The newlyweds received guests in a room at the Hunt er home which opened on to , the patio and which was deco rated, with flower arrange ments and white wedding bells. A round "lace-covered table - held the bride's cake," encircled with flowers. Mrs. Crocker Hunter Jr.,' and Mrs. Wayne Hunter, sistersrin-law of the bride, cut and served the, cake Mrs. Elmer Fors strom, Berkeley, Calif, poured coffee and Miss . Barbara Baker served punch. : Marty, Karen and Ritchie, Hunter, small nephews and niece of the bride, passed the bridegroom's cake and small bags of rice. Mrs., Albert Gandt took charge of the re ception. For the wedding and recep 1 tion the bride's mother wore an empire style ,jown of sap- . phire blue Chardon crepe -with chiffon trim and back . panels, matching accessories and iink rosebud corsage. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a terra cotta col ored empire chiffon gown with matching accessories and whiie rosebud corsage. Among the guests coming from a distance were the bridegroom's parents, his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reynolds, Anaheim,' Calif.,- Elmer Fors strom, Berkeley; Mrs, David G. Dykstra, Corvallis; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Heaton, Klam ath Falls; Miss Jean Miller, Grants Pass, and 14 of the bridegroom's fraternity broth ers in addition to those of the wedding party. : The evening preceding the ceremony a buffet supper was served at the bride's home for the wedding ' party and out 7 of - town guests. Thirty guests attended. ' ' Prior to : the wedding, the bride-elect was honored at a shower given by Mrs. Vance and Miss Fichtner at the Program Given For Alpha Beta 1 A ; program on "Introduc tions and Invitations" was pre sented by Mrs. Ernest Flakus at the first official fall meet ing of Alpha Beta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Tuesday eve ning at the home of Mrs. Floyd Robertson, 932 Win chester avenue. Mrs. L. : H. Guy assisted the hostess. Mrs. Dale Curfman was elected h corresponding secre tary, replacing Mrs. Robert Harland. Mrs. Thomas Car dona, director and honorary member;- of Alpha Beta, was a guest. . , ' ' ' Mrs. Flakus and Mrs. Tom Shoop, chairmen of the fall rush season, announced plans for the coming rush party. Rites Church Vance home, 119 Chestnut street. Twenty guests were present. " The newlyweds are making their home at 810 North 23rd street, Apt. 6, Corvallis; both young people are students at Oregon State college. The bride is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and the bridegroom's fraternity is Al pha Tau Omega. - Voters' League Slate Advisor To Visit Here Mrs. A. V. Logan, Corvallis, advisor from Oregon League of Women Voters, will be in Medford Wednesday, Septem ber 16, to meet with officers and chairmen of the Medford League of Women Voters..Mrs. Logan has served as state pres ident and as a member of the local and state boards for many years. : At an all-day meeting sched uled for the home of the mem bership chairman, Mrs. John T.. Weisel, plans for the first general meeting of the year will be completed. According to the president, Mrs. Dunbar: Carpenter, this "kick-off" event will be a luncheon meet ing at Rogue Valley Country club Saturday, September 26. . Featured" will be a "party line" introduction to the year's activities. All members and interested persons are invited to attend and bring guests. ' Reservations are to be made with Mrs. Homer Marx, tele phone SPring 2-6845. Rerisfield - Brownsoh Rites Held at Episcopal Church Ashland Miss Sharon Lee Brownson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Brownson, 147 Ohio street, became the bride of Charles LeRoy Rens field, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe I. Rensfield, 155 Ohio street, in a ceremony Friday, Sept. 4, at Trinity Episcopal church. . The Rev. John Thompson performed the ceremony at 8 pjn. before 150 guests. Mr. Brownson gave his daughter in marriage. The bride wore a dress of silk organza with a Chantilly lace bodice and pearls around the neckline. The sleeves were of three-quarter length and her finger-tip length veil was of lace and pearls. She carried a bouquet . of white rosebuds centered with a white orchid. Miss Barbara Rensfield, San Francisco, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of hon or. She wore a dress of melon colored chiffon with a pale Medcalf-Blissr Marriage Rites Held. in Church Phoenix - Miss Mary Susan Bliss became the bride of Pvt. Alton Medcalf in -a ceremony held August 29 at Phoenix Presbyterian church. The bride is a daughter of Mr; and Mrs. Walter H. Bliss, Chicago, 111., "and the bridegroom is a son of Victor S. Medcalf and grandson of Mrs. Bertha J. Medcalf, 200 First street. . A small number of guests' attended the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. William Salain at .7:30 o'clock. ; Miss Joyce Milton was maid of honor and- Thomas Wil liams, cousin of the bride groom, served as best man. . The bride wore a princess styled street-length dress of red and white print. Miss Mil ton's dress was yellow with white trim. Mrs. Medcalf and Mrs. M. A. Williams were hostesses for the reception which followed at the Medcalf residence. The young couple traveled to the coast on their wedding trip. The bridegroom was to leave September 9 for over seas duty in Korea. ' The bride attended Scott school and Hyde Park High school in Chicago and is em ployed by Rogue bakery. Pvt. Medcalf attended Phoenix schools. . ' Luncheon Planned For Social Club ' Reames " Social club . will hold a luncheon Wednesday, September 16, at .12 noon in the dining room of -Medford Masonic temple. All members of the Order of the Eastern Star are invited. Mrs.' Stew art Pennington, president will preside. Mrs. Vernon A. John Johnson was best man and Dallas Brownson, brother of the bride, and Kenneth Rensfield, brother of ' the bridegroom, seated guests. ' Pink and white gladioli decorated the church. Miss Edna Dougherty was at the organ and James Baker, Med ford, was soloist. The bride's parents gave the reception which followed in the parish hall. Mrs. Wil liam Brewer, aunt of the bride,' cut the cake.. Mrs. Howard Brownson, .. Myrtle Creek, aunt of .the bride, poured coffee and another aunt, Mrs. Darrell Copeland, poured punch. Miss Patricia Brewer,,, the; bride's ; cousin, was in- charge of, the guest book and Miss Patricia Gib son was at : the gift table. The young couple traveled by plane to San Francisco for their . wedding trip. The bride wore a multi-colored sheath dress with matching short coat.
