Larry Malone, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Malone, High way 99 north, Gold Hill. They have set no wedding date. Miss Cherry plans to begin her final year at Medford High school this fall and Mr. Malone will complete his tour of duty with the United States Navy reserve. He is a graduate of Crater High school. Miss Hurt is a senior at Crater High school and her fiance, a 1957 graduate of the school, is an airman at the Naval air base, San Diego. Miss Lucas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Lucas, is a graduate of Garfield High school in Seattle and is em ployed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance company there. Mr. Hannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter P. Hannon, Med ford, is a graduate of Saint Mary's High school and at tended Portland university. He is employed in the Pilot less Aircraft division of the Boeing Airplane company in Seattle. The wedding has been set for January 9 at St. Bene dict's church in Seattle. Miss Lynda Lucas (Mulholland photo) Meeting Held By Sojourners Yellow marigolds decorated the luncheon tables for the August 27 meeting of So journers, held at Girls Com munity club. Hostesses were Mrs. George Maddy, Mrs. Chester Findley and Mrs. H. F. Griffiths. Guests were Mrs. Vera B. Brown, Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. Barbara Bennett, Mira Loma, Calif. Entertainment for the aft ernoon was bridge, pinochle and canasta. Bridge prizes went to Mrs. Oscar Rasmus sen and Mrs. Fern Hughes, and pinochle prizes were won by Mrs. Duane McKenna and Mrs. John Goodwin. Canasta winners were Mrs. Adele Pur gason and Mrs. Ralph C. Jones. Sojourners meet the second and fourth Thursday of every month. Women who have lived in Medford or vicinity two years or less are cordial ly invited to attend. Houseguest of Mrs. Myron Root, 28 North Berkeley Way, is Mrs. L. B. Humphrys, Santa Rosa, Calif., and former Med ford resident. Mrs. Humphrys made her home in the valley for a number of years. Bethel Meetings To Be Resumed The first regular fall ses sion of Bethel 14, Internation al Order of Job's Daughters, will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wed nesday, September 2, in the Medford Masonic temple. The honored queen, Miss Micke Noble, extends a spe cial invitation to all visitors and newcomers -to Medford who are members of Job's Daughters to attend, this ses sion. Miss Jean Pletsch, librarian for the Bethel whose duty it is to bring reports to the girls on interesting develop ments in the fields of science, art and literature, plans a spe cial presentation about Shake speare in recognition of the Oregon Shakespearean Festi val now in progress in Ash land. Tuesday, September 1, at 7 p jn., Clarence Smith, choir director, will meet with the Bethel choir in the Masonic temple. He requests all regu lar choir members to be pres ent. Any girls interested in trying out for the choir may come at the same time.
