Another Kiwanis Fair Attraction Mrs. Oregon DOROTHY JEAN CHASE PLAYING THE HAMMOND Chord Organ at Our Booth Art Exhibit Set For Kiwanis Fair An art exhibit for southern Oregon artists will be a fea ture of the Kiwanis County Fair, Aug. 20-23, at the Med ford Armory, according to Sam Richardson, chairman of the special events committee. Richardson said that the media included in the exhibit would be oil, water color, drawing, and mixed media. $o entry fee would be charged to the exhibit, and entries . are limited to three pictures. He reminded those planning to enter that the pictures must be ready for hanging. The work entered must be labeled with title, media, statement of value, and name and address of the artist. Members of the jury who will be judging this art ex hibit are Eugene - Bennett, Warren Wolf, and Jack Deet ers who, as guest artists, have often been invited to show three paintings. Officials of the county fair advise artists that work for exhibit must be brought to the Armory by 7:30 p.m. Wednes day, Aug. 19, in order to be eligible for the judging. MA It TRIBUNE, Mtdferi, Or. SP 2-5702 . . . when a food hopper's "paradise" will be opened . to you Local Chapters Take Fair Events Eagle Point, Phoenix and Crater FFA chapters enter the Jackson county 4-H and FFA fair competition this week with some fair com petition already behind their members. Eagle Point placed first "in the livestock judging at the Josephine county fair. Grants Pass FFA chapter placed second, Phoenix came in third, Illinois Valley fourth, and Crater fifth. The three chapters had entries in two classes of beef, sheep and swine. The five high point boys were Ron Anderson, Eagle Point, first with 522.9 points of a possible 600; Steve Geren, Eagle Point, second with 521 points; Russell Elmore, Grants Pass, third with 471.7 points; Elvin Hawkins, Eagle Point, fourth with 470.1 points; and Dean Sommer, Phoenix fifth with 460 points. Phil Krouse, Grants Pass, was sixth with 453.8 points. Five teams were entered. In dairy Judging Grants Pass wai first, Illinois Val ley second and Eagle Point third.
