The two-day gain enabled the Dow-Jones industrial ave rage to regain more than one third of its Monday loss, which was the sharpest set back in almost four years. Electronics stocks scored some of the sharpest gains.' The best gains in the list were chalked up by stocks outside the group used to compile averages.
