(Brainerd photo) Episcopal Church Scene Of Heitkamp-Eaton Rites Miss Linda Katherina Ea ton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Eaton, 836 South Riverside avenue, became the bride of Martin Deitric Heit kamp, 2929 South Pacific highway, in a ceremony held July 25 at St. Mark's Episco pal church. The Rev. John S. Power, former assistant of St. Mark's and now vicar of Church of the Oood Shepherd, Prospect, officiated at the four o'clock afternoon double ring cere mony. Baskets of gladiolus decorated the church for the rites. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace and tulle over satin fashioned with lace front panel and lace and tulle ruffles down the back of the skirt forming a chapel length train. A cap of lace with pearls and sequins held her fingertip length veil and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink rosebuds. Mrs. James Watrus, was matron of honor for her sis ter. Bridesmaids were Miss Judy Hooper and Miss Pa tricia Brookman. Mrs. Wat rus wore a gown of pink chif fon over taffeta with a match ing satin headdress with short veil and carried a bouquet of pink tinted white carnations. The bridesmaids wore dresses styled as Mrs. Watrus' in aquamarine chiffon over taf feta with blue tinted carna tion bouquets. Little Connie Leever, Scottsdale, Ariz., niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. She wore a white organdy frock with white daisies in her hair. Deter Trost served as best man for his cousin. Seating th guests were Gregory Orr, Central Point, and James Pe terson. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Eaton chose a Persian blue silk sheath with white accessories. Mrs. Heitkamp wore a blue print frock with matching bolero and blue hat and white accessories. Their corsages were of white flow ers. . Right in the Middle of Summer . Mrs. Rich- and Leever, Scottsdale, Ariz., sister of the bridegroom, cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Peter Auer presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Tom Griffiths was in charge of the gift table. The couple traveled to the coast on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for a trav eling a blue ensemble with white accessories. They are making their home at 609 Sherman avenue, apartment 2 The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and is employed as cashier and sten ographer for Commercial Fi nance corporation. Mr. Heit kamp is a graduate of Oregon State college and is employed by Associated Fruit company. Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Meerly and daughter, Susan, of Menlo Park, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Z. F. Little, and sons, Neal and Noel, and daughter, Betty, of Eugene; Mrs. Kath erine Hubbird, grandmother of the bride, and Thomas A. Hubbird and son, John, all Portland, uncle and cousin of the bride. Visit in Medford Lt. and Mrs. Milton A. Loros Jr. and children, Kim, 4, and Eric, 2, are visiting the officer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton A. Loros, 1862 Delta Waters road. . Lt. Loros is on a 30-day leave en route to Europe from Perrin Air Force base, Tex., where he has been an instructor pilot of 86L Inter ceptors. - Mother Here Mrs. V. M. Lopizich from La Mesa, Calif., t to visit her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones, and her two grandchildren, Patri cia and Jerry, 43 Summit ave nue. Mrs. Lopizich, who made the trip by United Airline's, will remain a week. off rjlr Miss Cave Riley Bean Married The wedding of Miss Shirley Cave, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. Cave, 510 Experi ment Station road, to Riley Fred Bean, Phoenix, took place in Yreka, Calif., July 18. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bean, 411 Church street, Phoenix. Bishop Donald Whitacker of the Yreka Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints performed the double - ring service at 7 o clock in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Acotto, brother-in-law and sis ter of the bridegroom. Six teen relatives and friends were present. Miss Glenna Hezth, Med ford, and Tay Bradfield, For tuna, Calif., attended the couple. The bride wore a pink suit wit, white accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Miss Heath wor- a light brown dress with white eyelet trim and white accessories. Her flowers also were pink roses. White gladiolus and green ery decorated the rooms. The young couple traveled to San Jose following their wedding and will reside in Scotia, Calif., where the bride groom is employed by Pacific Lumber company. The bride attended Medford schools and her husband went to school in Phoenix. f Christopher Day To Do Field Work In Anthropology Mr. and Mrs. Christopher C. Day left yesterday morn ing for San Bartolome, Chiap as, Mexico, where Mr. Day will do field work for his master's thesis in anthropol ogy. Mr. Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Banjamin Day Jr., Sams Valley, was recently awarded a one-year fellowship from the Organization of American States, Pan-Ameri can Union, for his study in Mexico. Mr. Day, a graduate stu dent at the University of Chi cago, will return to the uni versity next year. During his field work in linquistics he bagan work on the compiling of a written language of the Highland Maya Indians. San Bartolome . is an Indian vil lage of approximately 6,000 population. The couple were married June 20 in the Holy Family Catholic church; Portland. Mrs. Dayj' a student at the Chicago Art Institute, is an artist. Navy Mothers Club To Be Entertained Rogue Valley Navy Moth ers club will be guests of the Gold Star Mothers Tuesday, August 4, at 10 a.m. at the Girls Community club. Erin Mer kel, 2115 Oakwood drive, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon Jean, to Lionel Eugene Rentschler, son of Mrs. L. A. Rentschler, Gardena, Calif. Miss Merkel, who was grad uated from Newbury Park academy in California in 1954, attended La Sierra college, Arlington, Calif., and will graduate from Glendale Sani tarium and Hospital School of Nursing in November. Her fiance, a 1954 graduate of Lynwood academy, Lyn wood, Calif., was also gradu ated from La Sierra college and is entering the College of Medical Evangelists School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, Calif., in September. A December wedding is planned. Miss Merkel expects to ar rive in Medford about August 21 to spend a brief time here. In high school he was presi dent of his senior class and a delegate to Boy's State in New York. Their wedding is planned for the Christmas holidays. Miss Patricia Crofoot Miss Webster Honored Guest Among the many parties honoring Miss Helen Webster, Medford, and Jackson county librarian for the past four years, before she left the val ley this week was one Mon day evening given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Free man, Hollywood avenue. Friends attending the event included Miss Aline Mann, Mrs. ! Robert Corliss, Mrs. Harry Fuller, Mrs. Edwin Gebhard, Mrs. Richard Schu- chard, and Mrs. Nell B. Tay lor. O. Sanden, West over heights. The first of their six children and families be gan arriving here Sunday, July 19, and the last left July 27. The number here varied be tween 4 and 29 at various times. '- Here during the period were Mr. and Mrs. Waters (Vivian) Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Pres ton J. Card and sons, Richard and Barry of Klamath Falls; Roger E. Card, Oakridge, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Gage O. Sanden, and their three children, Blake, Allan and Lois of San Diego, Calif.; Major and Mrs. H. J. Stoll (Eunice Sanden) and their three children, Gary Lee, Linda and Gale Ann, re cently returned from Ankara, Turkey; and Mr. and Mrs. D. E. McMullin and four chil dren, Dale, Jr., Eunice Kath leen, Ricky Lee and Jerry, from Cottage Grove, Ore. Last Sunday 29 were present for a family dinner. Also present were Mrs. Jewel Parr, Phoe nix and Mrs. Agnes Pathmann and her two sons, Ernest and Gordon, Medford. Major Stoll, who is with the medical division of the U.S. Air Force, and his family, have been stationed at Ankara for the past two years. They flew back to the U.S. in June, their flight taking them to Rome, Zurich and Frankfort where they went sightseeing in all places. They flew to the U.S., via Shannon, Ireland; Nova Sco tia, arriving at McGuire base in New Jersey where they had arranged to have a new car delivered. They travelled via the southern route to the Major's home town of Taylor, Tex., and from thence to Med ford. They left Monday morning for Texas where he will be stationed at Fort Worth. Whilo hre, .thejr showed slides of many places in iurKey, also the Holy Land and other places which thev visited. This was the first time in many years that all the family had been together. Laux, Laguna, Calif. The Rev. Elvin S. Tollefson officiated at the eight o'clock evening ceremony June 13, at tended by immediate families of the couple. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a blue and white print frock with chiffon overblouse. Her cor sage was of orchids. Mrs. James Clark, Yreka, was matron of honor. Best man was William Golden. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Schwieger home. The bride attended Medford High school and is employed by Mann's store. Mr. Green at tended Laguna High school and Southern Oregon college and is with Stage Coach or chards. ' 4 Hughes Family Arrives Here; Father Leaves Valley visitors include Mr. and Mrs. William Hughes and four children, Patrick, Mau reen, Peggy and Timothy, Salem, who are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan P. Bosworth Jr., Mrs. Hughes' parents. The visitors are dividing their time between the Bosworth's home on East Main street, and a farm on the Applegate river which they-recently acquired. Friday night the Bosworths, the Hughes and other mem bers of the family went to Ashland for the opening per formance of "Anthony and Cleopatra" at the Oregon Shakespearean Festival. Mr. Bosworth's father, H. P. Bosworth, and a brother, Hen ry, who visited here earlier in the summer, have returned to their home in Buffalo, N.Y. Sunday, August 2, 1959 A Wimple - Mallams Rites Held in Medford Church Miss Donna Lee Mallams became the bride of Beraie Leonard Wimple in a double ring ceremony held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, July 12, at St. Peter's Luther an church. The Rev. John Simon, pas tor, officiated. One hundred relatives and friends at tended. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mal lams, 1013 West 12th street, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wim ple, Cache, Okla. Baskets of pink and white gladiolus decorated the church. Mrs. Agnes Smith played traditional wedding music and a sextet sang. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a waltz length gown of white lace over net and taffeta. Her fin gertip length veil was held by a seed pearl headdress, and she carried a white orchid with carnations and stepha notis. - - Mrs. Jerry Weihemuller, Eureka, was matron of honor. She wore a green lace dress oer brocaded taffeta and car ried white rosebuds and car nations. Miss Ellen Keys, bridesmaid, wore a dress of pink lace over . taffeta, and carried pink and white carna tions. Duane and Tommy Mal lams, brothers of the bride, lighted the candles. Jerry Weihemuller, Eureka, served as best man and Tom Lee and Walter Kingman were ushers. Mrs. Delbert Bentien took charge of the guest book and Miss Dorothy Plyer, the gifts.
