To Reside in Medf ord Mr. and Mrs. Richard LeRoy Rankin will return to Med ford tomorrow following a wedding trip to San Francisco and Santa Cruz. Mrs. Rankin-is the former Janine Estelle Norlander, niece of Mr. jnd Mrs. Emmitt Tucker Jr., 543 Tucker street, Ashland. Mr. Rankin is a son' of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Rankin, 842 Taylor avenue, Medf ord. The couple were married July? 11 at First Methodist church, Medford, with the Rev. William (X Walker, pas . tor of the Methodist church, Winston-Dillard, and friend of the bridegroom's family, officiating at the three o'clock afternoon rites. Two hundred relatives and friends attend ed the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a white Chantilly lace gown in baller ina length and her fingertip veil was held by a tiara of pearls and brillants. Her jew elry was a double strand of pearls, a gift of the bride groom, and she carried a bou quet of stephanotis encircling a white orchid. Mr. Tucker gave his niece in marriage. Miss Dorene Johnson, La Canada, Calif., cousin of the bride, was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were "Miss Bar bara Marshall and Miss Karen Gott. Little Maralee Tucker, Ashland, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl, w Miss Johnson wore a cham pagne colored silk organza frock and carried a nosegay of pink roses and white car nations. The bridesmaids ore lime green and lavender chif fon dresses and carried nose gays of pink and white carna tions. The flower girl wore an orchid colored nylon organdy frock and carried a basket of pink roses. - Vernon Bright served as best man. Gale Eastwood and David Rankin, Stockton, Calif., cousin of " the bride groom, ushered. Danny Ran kin, Stockton, Calif., cousin of the bridegroom was ring bearer. For her niece's wedding Mrs. Tucker wore a powder blue silk organza dress with matching accessories. Mrs, Rankin wore a pink linen knit dress with white accessories. Their corsages were white orchids. Pink and white gladiolus decorated the church for the wedding. Mrs. Morris Tucker was organist ad William Wil son was soloist. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Tucker home in Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson sang a duet. Mrs. Carl Johnson, LaCanada, Calif., aunt of the bride, cut the wedding . cake. Miss Col leen Riley and Mrs. Raymond VanLiew poured. Miss Judy Ross, Sacramento, was at the gift table and Miss Linda Lu- man was in charge of the guest book. . ... The bride is a graduate of Medford High school. Mr. Rankin is a graduate of Med ford High school and is em ployed by C. J. Woodard. Among the out - of - town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Da vid Ross and three daugh ters, Sacramento; Mrs. Em mitt Tucker Sr., Prospect; and relatives of the bridegroom, Harry Chapman Sr., grand father; Mrs. A. C. Berner, aunt; Mr. and Mrs. John Chap man and daughter, Frances, uncle and aunt; Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Chapman and daugh ter, Karen, uncle and aunt; all Yakima, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rankin and sons, uncle and aunt, Stockton, Calif.; Mrs. William Walker and daughter, Kellie, Dillard, Ore.; and John Kent Sr., Bell gardens, Calif. A rehearsal buffet dinner was given by the bridegroom's parents at their home, 842 Taylor street, for members of the bridal party and 31 out-of-town relatives July 10. '. " Son Leaves David Hannawalt, son of Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Hanna walt, South Oakdale avenue, left Friday for Portland to attend events of the Oregon Centennial. H Reichstein, 7 Glen Oak court, is the fiance of Alan Louis Keaton, Junction City, Ore., and their wedding has been set for August 9 at St. Mark's Episcopal church, Medford. High school friends of the bride-elect were guests at the party, held in the evening. Farewell Party Honors Woman Mrs. Josephine Widner was honored at a luncheon given by Mrs. Harry W. Barneburff at her home, 1297 Sunset ave nue, Friday July 10. Mrs. Widner is leavine Medford to live in Tacoma, Wash., with her son John and wife. Mrs. - Widner has been a member for 31 years of Colo nel Sargent auxiliary, United Spanish War Veterans, and has been their dinner chair man for many years. She has lived in Medford and vicinity since 1923. Mrs. Widner was presented with gifts and cards. Other guests included colo nel W. H. Paine, Mrs. Wini fred Vail, Mr. and Mrs. Z. N. P. Klomhaus, Rogue River, announce the engagement of their daughter, Gretchen Marie, to Rollin John Schale ger, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schaleger, of Joliet, 111. Miss Klomhaus was gradu ated from the University of Oregon Medical school, School of Nursing, and is now nurs ing at Michael Reese hospital in Chicago. She was affiliated with Delta Delta Delta at the University. Mr. Schaleger is a student at Concordia Theological semi nary in St. Louis, Mo. This next year he will serve as vicar at Redeemer Lutheran church in North Tonawanda, New York-, after which he will have one year of school to complete'. The wedding is planned for the summer of I960 after Miss Klomhaus' parents return from New Guinea where they have been doing medical mis sionary work the past two years. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graham Antony (Du Charme photo) Antony-Gorman Rites Held in San Francisco Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grah am Antony, whose wedding was an event of June 15 in St. Monica's church in San Francisco, are now living in Portland. The bride is the former Evelyn Laetitia Gor man, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan P. Gorman, San Francisco, and the bride groom is a son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Antony, 401 South Modoc avenue, Med ford, who were in San Fran cisco for the wedding. The nuptial mass was cele brated at 11 o'clock in the morning by the bride's broth er, the Rev. Paul Joseph Gor man, who was ordained just two days before the wedding. He was assisted by a second brother, of the- bride, the Rev. Robert S. Gorman, who offi ciated for the marriage cere mony, and the bride's, uncle, the Rev. Robert O. Hickman, Winchester, Va., was assistant celebrant. - The bride's gown of white tissue taffeta was - fashioned with a bodice of re-embroidered . Alencon lace, crushed cummerbund and bell-shapeT skirt with side and back full ness terminating in a chapel length train. The Juliet cap of Alencon lace and pearls which held her full-length il lusion veil had previously been worn by her twin sis ter, Mrs. Dean Haggard, Bal timore, Md. The bride's bou quet was of valley lilies, or chids, bouvardia and ivy. Miss Margaret Ann Gor man was ner sister s nonor attendant. Bridesmaids were the bridegroom's sister, Miss Terryl Antony, Medford, and the Misses Ludwiena Dykzeul and Marilyn Lehew. They wore white silk sheath frocks Visit in Medford James H. O'Connor and daughter, Sharon, Phoenix, Ariz., visited recently at the home of his mother, Mrs. Roy M. Johnston, 1017 Ingrid street. The euests fished at Diam ond lake and visited crater lake and other points of in terest in this area. Mr. O'Connor, a graduate of West Point Military acade my. spent two years as a bomber piolet In the South Pacific in World War II. He studied law at the University of Southern California and became a trial lawyer for Snell and Wilmer law firm In Phoenix following graduation. with crowns of pearls and il lusion face veils, and carried arm bouquets of multicolored flowers. '; v Mr. Gorman escorted his daughter to the altar. Paul G. Antony, Medford, was best man for his brother and ush ers were Robert Rasmussen and Lt. .Norman Chapman, both Medford, and Ronald Nutting, brother-in-law of the bridegroom from Oroville, Calif. 1 ' The reception was held at the St. Francis- Yacht club. For the wedding and recep tion the bride's mother wore a frock of champagne lace with ' matching jacket and brown orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a gown of beige Alencon lace and her flowers1, were pale green orchids. Mr. Antony and his bride spent their honeymoon at Carmel and Monterey. Mrs. Antony attended San Francisco College for Women, and O'Connor School of Nurs ing. At the time of her mar riage she was employed at Stanford University Hospital center, Palo Alto, Calif. The bridegroom holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Santa Clara, did graduate , work at and is now a student at the University of Oregon Medical school, Portland. In San Francisco for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Mclntyre, Mrs. G. B. Jones, aunt of the bride groom, Mrs. S. Ralph Dippel, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Stone and daughters, Neila and Gayle. Gold Hill Church Setting For Byers-Hood Ceremony Gold Hill - Miss Helen A. Hood became the bride of David W. Byers in a double ring ceremony held Friday evening, July 3, at the Gold Hill Community Methodist Church here. The Rev. James F. Eubanks, pastor of the church officiated at the seven thirty o'clock ceremony, at tended by 25 relatives of the couple. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melford M. Hood, Gold Hill, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Byers, 1217 Leland street, Medford. The wedding color theme was blue and white. White gladiolus and blue hydrangeas were combined with baby breath and fern in tall .white baskets. A single blue candle sprinkled with glittering stars and encircled by white angel hair stood on the altar which was 'draped with white satin. White bows were at the pew ends. Vases of white Ester Reed daisies, and an ar rangement of tinted blue I Ester Reed daisies in a crystal swan,' loaned for the occasion by Mrs. Earl Moore, complet ed the church decorations. The single candle used for the ceremony had been presented to the bride's sister, Miss Su fanne Hood, when she was in stalled queen of Bethel 38, International Order of Job's Daughters, of June 20 in Cen-1 tral Point. The bride is a past queen of Bethel 38. Mrs. Roy Eskew played thei traditional wedding music. Mrs. Earl Moore was in charge of decorations, and flowers for the wedding were provid ed by Mrs. J. G. Kofahl, and Mrs. S. M. Christensen. The bride .was married in the church of which she Is a member, and she was a mem ber of the original church choir. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white lace over white sat in, fashioned on princess lines, with gathered three quarter length sleeves, neckline dip ping low in back and baller ina length skirt. Her fingertip illusion veil was held by a white lace cap. She carried white carnations. Miss Suzanne Mood was maid of honor for her sister, She wore a ballerina length frock of light blue nylon, and a jeweled tiara. Her wristlet bouquet was white carnations mixed with tinted blue carna tions. ' ' . Dean Byers, Medford, serv ed as best man for his brother, and seated the guests. For her daughter wedding Mrs. Hood wore a pleated blue Algoma Group To Hold Reunion ; Former residents of Al goma, one-time busy lumber town north of Klamath Falls, will hold the annual reunion Sunday, 'August 2, at Collier Park, 30 miles from Klamath Falls on the Bend highway. A potluck picnic is planned at 12 noon; coffee will be furnished. jersey dress and white acces- s o r i e s . The bridegroom's mother wore a suit of biege shantung and white acces sories. Their corsages were white gardenias. Among the guests attending the wedding were the bride's maternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Jones, and her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Alice Hood, both of Medford. At tending from out of town was a cousin of the bride, John F. Chisholm, U. S. Navy, who came from Fallon, Nev., for the ceremony. The bride's parents were hosts for a reception at their home in Gold Hill immediate ly after the ceremony, attend ed by only relatives. The bride's mother cut the wed ding cake. Mrs. Leota Lewis, great aunt of the bride, Med ford, poured punch and assist ed Mrs. Hood with the serv ing. Mrs. Rolland Washburn decorated the cake, for the occasion. The newlyweds traveled to San Francisco, Calif, for their wedding trip, the bride wear ing a black and white dress, with white accessories, and the corsage from her bridal bouquet. While in California they were guests in the home of his brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. James Mc-Gee. Following their wedding trip, the newlyweds were honored at a second reception given by the bride's parents Thursday evening, July 9, at the Girl's Community Club in Medford. Seventy relatives and friends attended the event. A wedding cake made and decorated by Mrs. Harold Mercer, aunt of the bride, Medford, centert i the bride's table. Miss Sharon Lilly and Miss Beryle Bosshard, cut and serv ed the cake. Pouring coffee were Miss Karen Byington and Miss Maxine Woodward, Miss Wanda Cossey and Miss Sylvia Hukill, presided at the punch bowl. Miss Judi Hover and Miss Elena Robinson took charge of the gift table. Miss Maralee Chisholm, cousin of the bride, and Miss Velma Piele wrote the guest list. The couple is residing at 431 Vilas road, Central Point, The bride, a member of a well known Gold Hill family, is a graduate of Crater High school with the class of 1958 and is- a student operator at Medford Beauty school. Prior to her marriage she resided at the Girl's Community club for nearly a. year. The bridegroom is a grad uate of Crater , High, school, class of 1957. He is a member of the Army Reserve 417 En gineer Brigade and is employ ed by Cleo Epps, lumber firm. Prior to her marriage the bride was honored at two pre- nuptial parties. Mrs. E, L. McGraw and her daughter, Mrs. Judy McGraw were hos tesses for the first shower giv en at the McGraw home at 3288 Hollywood avenue. Visitors in Valley Warrant Officer and Mrs. Lewis Broadbent and family, . Syracuse, N. Y., ' visited last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Huntley, 2179 Crater Lake avenue. Mr. Huntley and Mr. Broad bent are cousins. The warrant officer is. in the radar section of the United States Air Force.
