Mer riam, 36, both formerly of Rockford, 111., are guilty of murdering David, 3, and Vir gil Brogdon, 5, May 2. Irrigation Wafer Limited in Yreka Yreka - Yreka city council men, have limited the use of water for irrigation through July. " - -In an informal recommenda tion made at this week's coun cil meeting, citizens have been advised to use water for irri gation between 6 and 10 a.m. and&4 and 8 p.m. .on the odd days of the current month. There will beno irrigation on the even days. ' - Public Works Superintend ent Potter said this will allow the city's wells to recover their normal water supply. Formal approval of the rec ommendation is expected at tonight's meeting of the council. . -. . Phoenix Council Approves More Watering Hours Phoenix T w o additional hours of watering are now al lowed Phoenix residents, Mayor Arthur MacKintosh an nounced last night following a special city council meeting. Residents will continue on the same watering schedule but may now water from 7 to 9 p.m. in addition to the 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. watering hours. The north half of . Phoenix starts the new watering schedule to day. This will continue until further notice, the mayor said. The city has been on rationed water supply for two weeks. , The additional watering was allowed after Phoenix Watermaster Irving Hanscorab reported that one well started filling Monday. Phoenix now has a. full reservoir and two full wells, he said. - ; ,t Get Larger Reserve The council also discussed obtaining a bigger reserve of water. One would be 'to sink a well adjacent to an existing well at the pumping plant at the end of B st. -in Phoenix. The alternate plan would be to obtain additional land for a well site. The well now be ing used in that location has an area of 60 square feet sur rounding it. However, city of ficials have been informed it is possible to sink a well with in eight feet of the, other well. Mayor MacKintosh is to con fer with the city attorney to see if city funds can be trans ferred legally from other allo cations for possible purchase of well site land and equip ment. An adjourned city coun cil meeting s scheduled next Monday to discuss further a possible solution to the problem.
