Members of the Tudor guild are dressed in, colorful costumes of the Elizabethan era, giving a genuine Old Eng lish atmosphere to the occa sion. A costumed crier will roam among the crowd an nouncing events, just as was done in Shakespeare's time. Dr. D. Kirk- land West officiated at the double ring ceremony attend ed by 300 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall O. Bes sonette, Hillcrest road. Mr. Abel, is a son of Mrs. Helen Apple, San Francisco, former ly of Medf ord. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white floor length gown fashioned with fitted lace bodice and long peplum over a bouffant net skirt. Her elbow length veil was held by a lace and pearl headdress and she car ried a white orchid, and stephanotis. Her pearl earrings and pearl pendant were gifts of the bridegroom. Mrs. Jerry Bessonette, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor and Miss Dee Dunn and Miss Betsy Prince, Seattle, were brides maids. Little Dana Bessonette served as flower girl for her aunt. They wore pink and lavender lace frocks with straw picture hats and car ried bouquets of matching car nations. Candlelighters were the Misses Marsha Bessonette and Frances Bessonette. Richard Copple served as best man and John Larimer, Sacramento, cousin .of the bridegroom, and Jerry Bes sonette, brother of the bride, seated the guests. Ricard Jones served as ring bearer. , White 'gladiolus decorated the church for the wedding Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Rogue Valley Country club. Mrs. Robert Larimer and Mrs Lynn Bessonette cut the wed ding cake and poured the cof fee. Miss Janet Turner pre sided at the punch bowl. Lynn and Jerry Bessonette; broth ers )f the bride, served the champagne. Miss Barbara Reich was at the gift table and Miss Judy Riebe was in charge of the guest book. Miss Lea Ann Bes sonette.' .Portland, was in charge of the flowers. Assist ing the attendants dress prior to the wedding were Mrs. Tone Buttonff, Eugene, and Mrs. Donald Jones. Renee Bessonette, Dana Bes sonette, and Richard Jones passed out bags of rice. , The couple are now at home on Hillcrest road. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and is employed by Big Y Market. Mr. Abel, a graduate of Medford High school, is a student at Sacra mento State college. - Among the out - of - town guests attending were Mr. and Mrs. John Larimer and fam ily, Sacramento; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Harris, Eugene; Mrs. Harry Millette, Yreka; Mrs. Robert Banning, Etna, Calif.; and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ma cartney and family, Redding. - 1 - Summer Events Planned by Club; Member Honored Although the club year of ficially ends with the instal lation of new officer's in May, Medford Junior Women's club has inaugurated a custom of three special events to keep members in touch during the summer months. The work schedule of the winter months is first relieved by a coffee for members only in June. Closer family contacts are made by giving a picnic party for members and children in July, and husbands are treat ed to an out-door dinner in August. The pending marriage of Mrs. Trudy Dispenzierre to Richard Ackerman, set for June 27 prompted the addi tion of a surprise element to the June coffee. Members purchased an assortment of patio and barbeque accessor ies, and the evening was de voted to a wedding shower for Mrs. Dispenzierre. The event was held Wed nesday, June 17, at the home of Mrs. Gene Chamberlain. Mrs. Chamberlain had deco rated the gift table with a parasol-shaped mobile which had gift " packages swinging gaily from the end of each parasol rib. Mrs. John L. Hol mes, Jr. served refreshments. Plans for the children's party were made for July 22 at the home of Mrs. D. E. De Armond. Mrs. D. E. White, 3654 Pacific Highway south, became the bride of Robert Leeman Guinn, San Bernardino, Calif., in a ceremony held Saturday, June 13. The Rev. George Roseberry performed 'the" double-ring rites at 4 o'clock in the First Methodist church. Guests numbered 150. Mr. White gave his daugh ter in marriage. She wore a floor-length pale pink gown of nylon tulle and a finger-tip Miles to Hold At Home Today Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Miles, 605 Highland drive, will be "at home" today in honor of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd M. Miles. Friends are invited to call between three and five o'clock this afterhon. Mrs. Miles is the former Patricia Hackney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Har per, Little Butte Star route,' Eagle Point. John Bright, formerly of Med irt Portland today to attend the wedding of Miss Anne Keane Page to the Rev. Mc Bright. It is set for 4:30 o'clock this afternoon at Trinity Epis copal church. Among the guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wimberly Jr., and their children, Lee and Carolyn. The Rev. Varner, Hartford, Conn., sis ter of the bride, who was ma tron of honor, and Mrs. R. E. White, sister-in-law of the bride, and Mrs. W. E. French. They wore gowns of pink ny lon chiffon over pink taffeta and carried baskets of white Ester Reed daisies. Miss Diane Varner, the bride's niece, Hartford, and Miss Nancy Day, Talent, the bride's cousin, lighted tapers. John A. Lienchamper was best man. Ushers were R E. White, brother of the bride, and David Cox, Albany. Baskets of pink gladioli and painted daisies decorated the church. Mrs. Gerald Sher man was organist and Miss Rosemary Doolen sang. The bride's parents were hosts for the reception which followed in the church par lors. Mrs. A. N. Day and Mrs. Harry Rutherford, Coryallis, cut the cake. Mrs. Henry Har bison, Corvallis, and Mrs. M. D. Newton poured. For the wedding Mrs. White wore a pink silk .printed frock and Mrs. Guinn a blue silk dress. Their corsages were.of white carnations, and pink rosebuds. The young couple are at home at 3511 Tyler street, Corvallis, following a wedding trip to Sari Francisco. Both were graduated this spring from Oregon State col lege, where the bride is affil iated with Delta Delta Delta social sorority and the bride groom is a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. She is a Medford High school gradu ate and her husband was grad uated from Colton Union high school in California. Mr. Guinn has received his commission in the United States air force and is await ing orders to begin three years' service. Coon were visiting this past week at the home of Mrs, Coon's sister, Mrs Eric Went- worth, 217 Windsor avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Coon and their four children recently returned from . New Delhi, India, where Mr. Coon . was stationed with the U.S. De partment of State. After a vacation with the Wentworths here, the Coons will proceed to Washington, D.C., where they expect to remain for the next four years. Accompanying Mr. and Mrs. Coon to Medford were their two sons, Howard, 7, and William, 9. ' Medford Couple Attend Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Warren W. D e a k i n s, 2008 Westerlund drive, returned to Medford Tuesday after going to Sacra mento, Calif., for the wedding of their son, Warren Jr., to Nancy Reynolds. Mm Valley Couple Married In Episcopal Ceremony A ceremony at St. Mark's Episcopal church Saturday, June 20", wedded Mrs." Lor raine Evelyn Henry, Medford, and Philip H. Stansbury, Ashland. The ; Rev. George R. V. Bolster, rector of the church, officiated ' for the three o'clock afternoon rites. About 350 guests attended the wedding. The reception which followed was at Rogue Valley Country club for 200 guests. For the ceremony the bride wore a -gown of silver grey imported Alencon lace with grey moline hat trimmed with flowers. She carried a nosegay of white orchids and stephanotis. Mrs. Martin Luther Jr., at tended the bride. Mrs. Luther wore a sheath dress of yellow linen with matching crown hat and carried yellow roses. Emmet William Beeson, Talent, was best man for the bridegroom and ushers were James Henry, Martin Luther Jr., and R. B.- Thierolf, all Medford, and Samuel B. Da vis, Ashland. White gladiolus bouquets decorated the church altar. Mr.j Stansbury and his bride are returning to the valley this week end after a brief wedding trip, and will live at 123 Black Oak drive, Medford. The bride, who has lived in the valley for the past sev eral years, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Ude, Garden City, N.Y. She attend ed Adelphi college and Kath arine Gibbs school and is a member of Medford Junior Piano Teacher In California Mrs. Kathryn Diepenbrock, a long-time resident of Med ford, is now making her home in Fresno, Calif., where she is near her children. Her daughter, Mrs. Kath ryn D. Jack, formerly of Medford, is a medical secre tary at the Veterans hospital there and her son, Robert A. Diepenbrock, i s assistant manager, of the Standard Oil refinery at Bakersfield. Before making the move south, Mrs. Diepenbrock sold her residence at 15 Vancouv er avenue. Her new address is 934 East Anorenes avenue, Fresno. Mrs. Diepenbrock was one of the city's better - known musicians and taught piano, .
