h o 1 Miss Sally Harris Betrothal News Announced Here; Fall Rites Set Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Har ris, 707 South Oakdale ave nue, announce the engage ment of their daughter, Sally Joann, to Willard Lee Fred fjrickson, son of Mr. and Mrs, I D.' Frederickson,- Los An- eles. Miss Harris is a graduate of Oregon State college and is employed by Pan American World Airways as a hostess he flies to points in the South Pacific and the Orient and by the polar route to Europe. Mr. Frederickson did his undergraduate work at Brig- ham Youne university in Utah and was this month fraduated from San Francisco heological Seminary at San Cnselmo, Calif. He has recent ly taken a post as assistant minister of the Presbyterian church in Inglewood, Calif., where the couple will reside following their marriage Au gust 29. Miss Harris and her sister, Mrs. Merrill Hval, Portland, left San ' Francisco, by air June 15 for London and plan to spend a vacation touring Europe. Miss Aus-Der-Au ar rived in Eugene June 10 where she attended the gradu ation exercises of Miss Mar- jorie Blind from the Univer ir of Oregon. The two girls were room mates at Valparaiso univer sity in Indiana during their freshman year in the college. as graduated from Valpa raiso university earlier this month, plans to remain in the valley several weeks. The wedding date is set for September 6 at the' First Methodist church in Medford. Miss Walker is a graduate of Medford High school. She attended the University of Oregon for three years, ma joring in English, and is member of Gamma Phi Beta social sorority. Mr. Kerr is a graduate of Ashland High school and was recently graduated from the University of Oregon receiv ing a bachelor of science de gree in history and a commis sion of second lieutenant in the United States. He is a member of Phi Kappa Psi social fraternity. , Following thcceremony the couple will leave for an ex tended honeymoon arriving at Fort Benning, Georgia, where Mr. Kerr will report for six months active duty on Octo ber 5. Frank Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Laurel F. Scott of Cen tral Point, in a ceremony held June 6, at Zion Lutheran church. The Rev. H. C. Coovert of ficiated at the double-ring rites attended by 150 friends and relatives. Miss Ruth Coo vert played the organ music for the 8 o'clock evening wedding, and accompanied James Scott, brother of the bridegroom, who was soloist White stock and lavender astefs decorated the church for the ceremony. . The bride wore a ballerina length gown of embroidered net over a satin hooped skirt. Her finger tip veil was held in place by a small white half- bonnet embroidered with seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations. Mr. Kunkel gave his daugh ter in marriage. , Miss Deanna Kunkel, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Misses Mary Campbell and Gailya Guinotte. They wore pastel colored lace frocks in blue, lavender, and yellow with -small matching hats. Their bouquets were daisies matching their dresses. Little Janice Foland was flower girl. She wore a orchid dotted Swiss organdy dress with matching bonnet. Johnny Blackhurst was ring bearer, He carried a white satin pil low made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. J. A. Nel- sen, San Diego, Calif. Steven Blackhurst and Hans Ewaldsen lighted the candles. Jerva Win, Delano, Calif., was best man. Lionel Beyer and Stanley Hodges, both also of Delano, seated the guests, Mrs. Kunke.l chose for her daughter's wedding a light blue sheath frock with white accessories. Mrs. Scott wore a navy blue dress with white accessories. Their . corsages were gardenias. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. George Wilmothj Whit- tier, Calif., sister of the bride groom, cut 'and served the wedding cake made by Mrs. Arthur Hertager. Mrs. Harry Bamesburger, Valparaiso, Ind., aunt of the bride, poured cof fee and Mrs. Robert Brown presided at the punch table. Mrs. H. V. Martin and Mrs. Fred Weinhiemer, Spring field, Ore., had" charge of the reception. The newlyweds are making their home at 616 South Stage road following their return from a wedding trip to south ern California. For traveling, Mrs. "Scott chose a suit of coral and white cotton. Her corsage was white carnations. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and at tended Southern Oregon col lege. Mr. Scott graduated from Delano High school and is em ployed at Singler's Auto Sup ply while completing his studies at Southern Oregon college. Rhymes, 1715 Crown avenue, announce the engagement of their youngest daughter, Dorothy, to Larry Coppie, son or Mr. and Mrs. Robert Coppie, 917 North Central avenue. The announcement was first made known to Miss Rhymes' sorority sisters at the senior breakfast of Alpha Phi soror ity at the University of Oregon. Miss Rhymes was gradu ated from the University last Sunday. Her fiance will be a senior next year at uregon State college. No date has been set for their wedding. - . Medford Woman Attends Festival Mrs, Russell Herbert has re turned to her home at 414 West Jackson street after a trip to Portland to attend the annual Rose festival and the International Trade Fair which is a part of Oregon s. Centennial celebration. Mrs. Herbert reports that she found the exhibits of for eign nations of considerable interest, particularly those from the. countries of Ghana and Morocco. ' Shower Honors Miss Wymore; Rites in July Miss Judy Wymore was honored at a bridal shower given June 18 by Miss Ste phanie Ball and Miss Jo Ann Robertson. The event was at the Ball home, 1025 Ingrid avenue. ' ' Miss Wymore's wedding to Robert Mitcheltree is planned for late July. The refreshment table was centered with a pink and white cake, pink lupine blos soms, and tall pink candles arranged with pink organdy and white tulle miniature um brellas. On the gift table stood a bride doll dressed in white lace and wearing a veil, and two bridesmaids's dolls wearing pink taffeta gowns and carrying flowers. The cen terpiece was of pink and white roses. The guest included .the Misses Charlene Hubler, Janet Merrill, Lynette Shaw, Jean Pletsch, Ruby Rowan, Roberta Sleeter, Iverne Iverson, Shar on Blickenstaff, D e w a ri d a Winchell, Karen Leffler and Donna Barker; Mrs. George Brown, mother of the honored guest, Mrs. James Mitcheltree, mother of the bridegroom-to-be and Mrs. Thomas P. It took placeJune 18. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence San derson, Happy Camp, Calif, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Win ningham Sr., Prospect. The double-ring rites were read at eight o'clock in the evening, with the Rev. Tyley Evans of Grace 'Bible church officiating. Forty guests at tended. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace, de signed ballerina length and wo r n with a finger - length veil. She carried pink and white carnations. . Miss Sandra Sanderson, Happy Camp, attended her sister. She wore a frock of pastel green chiffon and car ried gardenias. Larry Sanderson, Shady Cove, the bride's brother, was best man and Vernon Struck was usher. Richard Evans played the wedding music. Roses, mountain ferns and garden flowers provided a set ting for the bridal party. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sander son were hosts for the recep tion which followed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beers, uncle and aunt of the bride. Mrs. Beers cut the wedding cake, Miss Marlene Govenor served punch and Miss Yvonne Struck the cof fee. Mrs. Larry Sanderson took charge of the guest book.
