' v. h -. msmmmmmm Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Arthur Norton (Knacksiedt photo) Garden Ceremony Marries Miss Hedrick, Floyd Norton A ceremony held in the garden at Mon Desir inn, Cen tral Point, Wednesday, June 10, wedded Miss Carolyn Ann Hedrick to Floyd Arthur Nor ton. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Er- cel H. Hedrick, 503 South Oakdale avenue, Medord, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel W. Nor ton, Fort Collins, Colo. The single-ring service was read at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon by Lee Peers Wil meth, 'Ashland. A small group of relatives and friends at tended. The bride wore a ballerina length gown of white em broidered nylon organdy with a three-tiered skirt over hoops. Her illusion veil was held by a coronet of organdy circled with seed pearls. She carried stephanotis and white orchids. For "something old" she wore a ring of gold and onyx which had been made for her grand mother Hull's wedding, and which had been worn also by her grandmother Norcross and her mother on their wedding days. xMiss Carol Dyke, maid-of- honor, wore a sheath frock of pale yellow with inserts of white lace, a white hat and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow carnations. Eugene B. Antley, professor of history at Southern Oregon college, was best man. John Lusk played the wed ding music. The reception was held on the patio of the inn. The bride's table was centered with an arrangement of white roses and mock orange blos soms in a silver bowl which belonged to the bride's ma ternal grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Norcross. Mr. and Mrs. Norcross settled on land adjoining Mon Desir in 1888 and established the first fruit nursery in the val ley. They imported pear stock from France for some of the valley's first orchards, and planted pear orchards on the land still owned by the family. Mrs. Henry 'W. Johansen and daughter, Susan, served the punch - and -Mrs. T. E. Knackstedt arranged the flow ers for the reception. For the event Mrs. Hedrick wore a print silk sheath of Miss Nancy Lou Redhead Wed To Anthony Miksche 2 MAIL TRIBUNE, Medford, Or. A Sunday, June 14, 1959 Jacksonville - Miss Nancy Lon Redhead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Redhead, route 2, box 111, became the bride of Anthony B. Miksche, son of Mr. and Mrs, Robert Miksche, 2216 Siskiyou boule vard, Medford, in a ceremony held June 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic church. The Rev. William McLeod officiated at the double ring ceremony held at two o'clock in the afternoon. Pink roses decorated the church for the event attended by 75 relatives and friends Bruno Pellegrini played the organ wedding music. The bride wore a white lace gown in ballerina length and her veil was fingertip length. She carried a handkerchief of Battenberg lace made by her great grandmother and pink rosebuds encircling a white orchid on a prayer book. Mr. Redhead escorted his daughter to the altar. Miss Shirley Dunlap, Up per Applegate, was maid of honor and Miss Beverly John son, Grants Pass, was brides maid. Bridesmatron was Mrs. Richard Sandf ord. They wore pastel colored sheath frocks pink and white, pink feather ed hat and a gardenia corsage, Following the reception Mr. Norton and his bride left for a honeymoon trip along the California coast. For travel ing the bride wore a grey pincheck suit and gray top coat, with black accessories. The couple will live at 1668 Dorchester place, Concord, Calif. Mrs. Norton is a graduate of Medford High school and has been a student at South ern Oregon college. Her father was superintendent of Med ford schools for many years before his recent retirement. The bridegroom holds a master of arts degree in Eng lish from Colorado university and is an instructor in English composition and world litera ture at Southern Oregon coU lege. In Medford for the wedding were the bride's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. . and Mrs. William Hedrick, and their children, Hugo, Ore., and her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Work and family, Shady Cove. Also among the wedding guests was Louis L. Richard son, Marysville, Mo., who is in Medford to visit his brother and sister-in-law, .Mr. and Mrs. Sam Richardson, and his mother, Mrs. Bell Richardson, 1609 Stratford way. in yellow, pink and blue with matching lace overskirts. Thv carried colonial bou quets of pink rosebuds. Gary Miksche, Medford, served as best man for his brother. Raymond Cox, Eu gene, and Ronald Meyer, Tal ent, seated the guests. Mrs. Redhead chose for her daughter's wedding and re ception which followed at the Miksche home, a light blue sheath frock with white ac cessories. Mrs. Miksche wore a white dotted copper colored sheath with white accessor ies. Their corsages were white rosebuds. Mrs. Raymond Miksche made the floral arrangements for the reception. Mrs. Terry Sneed, Medford, cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. Robert Guches presided at the punch bowl assisted by Mrs. Fred Straube. Mrs. George Koch, Medford, was in charge of the guest book and was at the gift table. The couple are making their home on Upper Apple gate road following their re turn Tuesday from a wedding trip to Reno, Nev., and Lake Tahoe. For her traveling at tire the bride wore a brown cotton sheath with white or chid corsage. The bride is a graduate of Jacksonville High school and is employed by Cash Davis Pharmacy. Mr. Miksche is a graduate of St. Mary's High school and is employed by Monarch Seed and Feed com pany. Parties Given For Bride-Elect Miss Shirley M. Hutchin son, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keva E. Hutchinson, 22 South Keene Way drive, was hon ored June 3 at two events. During the morning a coffee and recipe shower was held in the patio at the home of Mrs. Kent Blackhurst, 245 Keene Way drive, attended by 15 neighbors and friends. Later Mrs. Arthur Hess and Mrs. Clyde Webb were host esses for a miscellaneous shower .at the Webb residence, 915 Ready avenue, attended by 16 friends. - Roses, lily .of the valley, bells and hearts decorated the home for the event. Miss Hutchinson was mar ried to Willard Jerome James, son of Mrs. Willard A. James, Lawrence, Kansas, at the First Methodist church June 10. Lynch, 139 Kenwood avenue, announce . the engagement of their daughter, Shirley Mar- ace, to Jerry Raymond Peter son, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Peterson, 1440 Whitman avenue. ' Both are graduates of Med ford high school. Miss Lynch attended Lewis and Clark col lege and the University of Oregon, graduating from Lew is and Clark in 1958 with a bachelor of arts degree in bi ology. She is a . member of Alpha Xi Delta social soror ity and Quesitors, senior hon or society. Last summer she studied marine biology in the San Juan Islands on a National Science Foundation scholar ship from the University of Washington. For the past year she has been employed in re search work at Oregon State college. Mr. Peterson was graduated with honors from OSC in 1958, receiving a' bachelor of science degree in chemical en gineering. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, national hor or society, and Sigma Pi so cial fraternity. 1 Since his graduation he has been studying for his master's degree at. Columbia univer sity on a scholarship from the Atomic Energy commission This summer he will work with the AEC in New York. The couple plans their wed ding for September 5 in the First Presbyterian church in Medford. Valley Couples To Be Married In Double Rites Mr. and Mrs. Ray C. An derson, 1187 Morrow road, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Marion Lucille An derson, to Alf Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peter son, 709 Alder street. Miss Anderson is a" gradu ate of Medford High school and Northwest Nazarene col lege, Nampa, Idaho. For the past two years she has taught English, art, and speech at Jacksonville High school. Mr. Peterson attended Med ford High school, Northwest Nazarene college and South ern Oregon college and served four years in the U.S. Navy. He will be a senior in college this fall. He is currently em ployed by Fir Milling, Ashland. The couple plan a double wedding' with the bride's brother, Willard Anderson, and his fiancee, Miss Mavis Emblom, daughter of Mrs. Robert Johnson; Oak street, Ashland. The weddings will be held held Thursday, July 2, at 8 odock in the evening at Grace Lutheran church, Ash land, with the Rev. John Si mon of St. Peter's Lutheran church, Medford, officiating. All former students of Miss Anderson are invited to at tend. - Shower Given For Miss Carr Central Point - Miss Sally Carr, whose wedding to Roger Allen Jones is set for June 20, was honored at a shower given recently by Mrs. Lathel Stevens, Miss Sharon Stevens, Mrs. Dave Hess, Mrs. Melvin Hall and Miss Mary Jo Hall The party was at the Hall's home on Old Stage road, Jacksonville.
