Growers Threaten Berry Harvest Woodburn -tTD About 300 Willamette valley strawberry growers agreed Saturday night that if processors have not offered 14 cents a pound by Wednesday, thtr harvest will cease until the demands are' met. George Landrith, Clear Lake, representing the grow ers, said growers from as far aouth as Albany and north to Hillsboro attended the meet ing at Woodburn Armory. A 14 to 14V cent market in California is the reason for the increase request, he said. Most processors in Oregon at present are offering 13 cents per pound for the straw berries. Landrith said the growers would meet again here on Wednesday.
