Miss Carr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aetna H. Carr, 124 High land drive, will enter the University ef Oregon next fall on a tuition scholarship to study chemistry. Miss Minshal a daughter of the A. J. Minshalls, Old Sterling road, Jacksonville, will attend Willamette university en en Elk Lumber company scholarship and will study sociology and religion; she is retiring president of the Youth Fellowship -of Medford First ' Methodist church. Miss Hexs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin L. Hess, Lozier lane. Associated Student Body treasurer, has bees granted honor en entrance and a tuition scholarship . tie University ef Oregon. at O June is one of the best months of the year. June means the ,end of school with no more worries about lessons and tests for the student. June means the excitement, and regret, of graduation for the .high school and college senior. June is the month of brides and brings the sound of the wedding march in churches throughout the nation. Grade schools of the city held final classes Wednesday and when the last bell sounded, youngsters rushed out with visions of baseball lots, swimming pools, fishing and picnics replacing thoughts of reading, 'riting and 'rithmetic. With school closed for the summer, families take the vacation trips which they planned months ago when the days were cold and stormy. Mr. and Mrs. Reese M. Alexander, with their daughter, Gloria, and son, Dennis, will leave later this month to spend a long-awaited vacation in the Hawaiian islands. They will leave San Francisco by plane June 23. Gloria completed Hedrick Junior High school this summer and will enter Medford High school in the fall; Dennis, 9, attends Hoover school. The Alexanders live at 2509 East Main street. June- June- June! Wmm mm v Mrs. Stephen Edward Foster, the former Janeth Ann Smith, is a "May-June" bride the Foster-Smith rites having been held May 30 at First Presbyterian church. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Niles B. Smith of 8 Richmond avenue, wore a gown of Chantilly lace and carried white roses. This is the flower of Sigma Nu, Mr. Foster's college fraternity.
