Mammoth Scout Festival To Be Given Here May 28 Rogue Valley Area Gir Scouts will present a mam moth May Festival of songs and dances Thursday, May 28. Approximately 1500 of the 2300 registered Scouts and 300 adults of the registered Reunion Observes Golden Wedding Central P o i n t Mr . and Mrs. William DeHaas, Box 69, Harbor, Ore., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a family reunion April 26 at the home of tneir son, Ken neth DeHass, Scenic avenue. Twenty-one members of the family attended the picnic dinner. Mr. and Mrs. DeHaas were married April 28, 1909, in Payette, Idaho, and have lived most of their lives in Oregon. Attending the reunion were their three children, Mrs. Henry Pech Lake Creek; Ker mit DeHaas, Brownsboro, and Kenneth DeHaas, Central Point. Others present were Henry Pech Sr. and Marlene Pech; Mrs. Kenneth DeHaas, Patty, Joyce, Margie and Mike; Mrs. Kermit DeHaas and Gordy; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pech Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pech and son; and Mrs. Minnie Rood. Beta Sigma Phi Plans Ceremony ' Mrs. Richard Knoll will be Installed as president of Beta Sigma Phi city council at a meeting Monday, May 11. at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. J. Troops from Medford, Grants Pass, Ashland and West Siskiyou districts will be represented, with Brownie Scouts, Intermediate Girl Scouts and Senior Girl Scouts taking part. The songs and dances are a result of the work done in the troops throughout the year; an dthe program is being pre sented as a gesture of appre ciation by the Girl Scouts to all the friends of Scouting who have supported the movement personally or by giving to the United Fund campaigns. Dances in the program rep resent many nations, or na tionalities, and a complete set of the United Nations flags have been sent to the Scouts by the United States National bank. The flags-will be dis played in front of the student grandstand at the Medford High school stadium where the program will be present ed. Thirteen of the flags will be carried by Senior Scouts, in complete uniform, with a color guard of a Brownie Scout and a Girl Scout during the grand entrance march. Emphasis is also being given the Oregon Centennial in many of the numbers. Girls taking part in nation al dances will wear appropri ate costumes, as will the troop leaders. There will be no admission charge; a re freshment booth will be main tained, and there will be a lost and found department and a lost children station. The Salvation Army has of fered their services with the use of the Disaster car for a first aid station. Area chairman for the festi val will be "Mrs. Max Leisch- ner; Mrs. Darell Huson is area song director and Miss Col leen Hope is area dance direc tor. District song directors are Mrs. W. F. Lard and Mrs. George Wacker. District dance directors are Mrs. J. W. Barnard, Mrs. Daryl Holt, Mrs. Alvin Athanas and Mrs. Lloyd Parsons, who is May pole dance director. Held at Catholic Church Ashland - Miss Dorothy Fay Bunger became the bride of Charles Clayton Setchell in a ceremony held April 28 at the Sacred Heart Catholic church, Medford. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Alta May Alvis, 1625 Peachy road, Ashland, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Set chell, 171 Helman street. He has been making his home on Route 4, Medford. The Rev. William S. Walsh of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic church officiated at the double ring ceremony held at 1:30 o'clock in the afternoon. J Lavender and white lilacs decorated the church for the ceremony, attended by 100 relatives and friends.Bruno Pellegrini played the" organ wedding music and Miss Elaine Berge and Miss Nancy Kaylor sang. The bride w o r e a floor length gown of white Chan- tilly lace and tulle fashioned with long sleeves and alter nating panels of tulle and lace in the full skirt. Her finger tip length veil was held by a tiara of pearls and sequins and her bouquet was of white orchids and stephanotis. Oar- us D. McGee gave his sister-jn-law in marriage. Mrs. Oarus McGee was ma tron of honor and Miss Fran ces Bell Bunger, West Covina, Calif., was maid of honor, both are sisters of the bride. Brides maids were Miss Janet McGee, niece of the bride, and Miss Mary Ann Getchell, niece of the bridegroom. Flower girl was Marilyn Barker, Medford, niece of the bridegroom. They wore identical frocks of pink, blue, yellow, lavender, and beige lace and net over taffeta and carried bouquets of white carnations. Ring bearers were Ken ny Lee McGee and Richard Barker, Medford, nephews of the bride and bridegroom re spectively. John Setchell served as best man for his brother. Ray Hamilton, Raymond Barker, both Medford, and John Bill ings, seated the guests. For her daughter's wed ding and the reception which followed at Bellview Grange hall, Mrs. Alyis wore an aqua marine lace " frock over taf feta with white accessories. Mrs. Setchell chose a navy blue faille with white acces sories. The hall was decorated with baskets of orchid lilacs. Mrs. Ralph Hassell was in charge of the reception. Mrs. Don Way baked and cut the tiered wedding cake and Mrs. Mil dred Zimmerlee presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Don Malin was at the gift table and Miss Barbara Baccus was in charge of the guest book. Assisting were Mrs. Robert Baccus, Mrs. Clinton Baugh man, Mrs. Dorothy Wright, Mrs. Alice Gillette and Mrs. J. Fred Emgel. They were Mrs. Cora Card er, only living charter mem ber of First Methodist Episco pal church, now the First Methodist church here, and Mrs. Robert Taylor, local member of the present church associated for the longest time with the Medford Meth odist Episcopal church, South. The First Methodist church is the result of the union in 1939 of the First Methodist Episcopal church and the Medford Methodist Episcopal Church, South. The churches were organized November 15, 1885 and 1892 respectively. Among the state officers elected at the meeting from Medford were Mrs. George Lawless, student work; Mrs. Charles Adamson, secretary of the Wesleyan Service Guilds of the Oregon confer ence, and Mrs. Oliver P.
