Woman fo be Moved From Rest Home Circuit Court Judge James Main yesterday afternoon said he would sign a court order directing that Mrs. Martha Emma Hill, Medford, be re moved from Rest Haven nurs ing home to Huf fine's nursing home in Central Point. Judge Main's decision fol lowed a writ of habeas corpus hearing involving Mrs. Kath erine Gore, Medford, versus Mr. and Mrs. Walter Budovic, proprietors of the Rest Haven nursing home. The Budovicks attempted to have Mrs. Gore removed as guardian of Mrs. Hill. Tes tify ng in her own behalf, Mrs. Hil'also asked that Mrs. Gore be removed as her guardian. Airs. Gore testified that she and her husband had sought to remove Mrs. Hill from the nursing home; on doctor's ad vice and were opposed by both the Budovicks and Mrs. Hill. Walsh, 16, of 111 South Keene way, was treated at Sacred Heart hospital last night for numerous scratches and bruises following an as sault by three other youths, Medford police reported. Police said that Walsh de clined to name his attackers, but he stated they had driven him from the downtown area by way of Barnett rd. to where they had beaten him. Walsh said he walked home from the scene of the beating afterward, according to the police report. Boyd Overhulse Undergoes Surgery Salem-EPD-Sen. Boyd Over hulse (D-Madras) was report ed in satisfactory condition at Salem eGneral hospital today atfer undergoing surgery Monday. Overhulst, president of the Senate in the 1957 session, has been away from his desk for about a week. Fellow sen ators said he probably would be in the hospital for 10 days to two weeks. SERVICE Howard School fo Observe Centennial Children, teachers, princi pal, and employees of How ard school will turn back the calendar to 1859 Thursday and Friday, when they attend school in dress appropriate to, that era. School officials reported that a special assembly will be held Thursday by fifth grade students in honor of the Centennial. Some of the students plan to ride to school on horse back, it was reported. Vaughan, of Wolfe Creek, died today in a local hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Conger-Morris. GEORGE L. HAFF Funeral services for George L. Haff, 91, who died Sunday at his home in Gold Hill, will be held at the IOOF hall, Gold Hill, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The IOOF Lodge will be in charge of services at the graveside. Committal will be in Rock Point cemetery. Survivors include two step sons, Paul Thompson of Gold Hill., and Ray Thompson of Portland. Conger-Morris, fu neral directors, are in charge of arrangements. LONA SPENCER Funeral services for Mrs. Lona Ethel Spencer, 62, of 829 West Second st., who died in a Portland hospital Saturday will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Chapel Mortu ary. The Rev. William C. Piper, pastor of the First Christian church, will offici ate. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Memorial park. Mrs. Spencer, the daughter of Herbert S. and Charlotte Anderson Hull, was born in Missouri on Dec. 21, 1896. She received her teacher's certifi cate from the Cheney Normal college, which is now the Eastern Washington College of Education at Cheney, Wash. She also attended the State College of Washington at Pullman, and the University of Washington in Seattle. She was married on June 14, 1931, to James M. Spencer, who sur vives. She taught music and other subjects in the grade schools of Pendleton, Jacksonville and Medford. She had been a resi dent of Medford since 1945. She was a member of the Christian church in Spokane, the Oregon State Mother's club, and the Garden club of Pendleton. Besides her husband, she is survived by twin sons, James H. Spencer, Buena Park, Calif., and Lee A. Spencer, Portland; and three sisters, Mrs. Rose Rock, Spokane, Mrs. Geneva Fink, Cheney, Wash., and Mrs. Mona Cars ton, Reardon, Wash. MRS. MARGARET BUCK Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Kurtz Buck, 32, of 108 South Keeneway dr., will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. John Ilg will officiate. Burial will take place in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mrs. Buck was born in Hazelton, N.D., Sept. 14, 1926. She attended Idaho State col lege for two years, and the University of Oregon medical school for three years, where she received her BA degree. She was a registered nurse, and a member of the Ameri can Cancer Society and the Sacred Heart Catholic church. She had been a resident of Medford for the past three years, and had lived in Ore gon for 10 years. Survivors include her hus band, Dr. Robert H. Buck, of Medford; two daughters, Cyn thia and Janet, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Cairns of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Helen Calahan of Connecti cut; one brother, Dr. Robert Schnider of Los Angeles; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Schnider of Pocatello, Idaho. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers a dona tion may be made to the Amer ican Cancer Society in care of the local postmaster. Recitation of the Holy Ro sary will be held at Perl Fu neral home at 7:30 o'clock tonight. Pallbearers will be Dr. N. J. Wilson, Mrs. William J. Miller, Ivan Harrington, Dr. Thomas Tinsley, Dr. Fred F. Burich, and Dr. B. Brandt Bartels. The market's resurgence came on the heels of a sharp sell-off Monday which was at tributed to technical reasons. Individual gains in the list ran past four points in some of the leaders and gave the whole market a bright look. Lukens Steel paced its group with a gain running past four points. Other issues in the steel group generally added fractions. Maytag also added around four at its best on a good earnings report. DuPont was up almost four in the chemicals. Motors met good support. American Motors, Ford, and General Motors all added a point or better. Nonferrous metals, enjoying a stronger price structure, had a number of issues up a point or more, including Alcoa, Anaconda, and Magma Copper'.
