Rodeo clown at left, anxiousness showing in his face, is starting after the bull to help. Extent of the cowboy's injuries is not known.. ... 'Juvenile Decency' Theme of Talk by Radio Personality "Juvenile decency" was the theme of a talk here yester day by Bill Thompson, long time radio and television per sonality best known for his "Old Timer" and "Mr. Wim ple" characterizations on the Fibber McGee and Molly radio show. Thompson, manager of pub lic service for Union Oil Company of California, ad dressed the Kiwanis club at its luncheon at Rogue Valley Country club. He called for emphasis on the good things young people are going and the accomplish ment of good through positive approach in youth matters. That, with guidance for the 3 per cent of the youth in this country who are termed "de- Wool Growers To Adopt Resolutions Portland -flJPD-The National Wool Growers association met in the fourth and final day of its 94th annual convention t today to elect officers and adopt resolutions. Harold Josendal of Casper, Wyo., one of five regional vice presidents, was consid ered to have a good chance to be named to succeed Don Clyde of Heber City, Utah, as president. Clyde has held the post for the past two years. Among resolutions reported up for consideration were go ing on record against the so called wilderness bill which would set aside certain forest areas for recreation and bet ter control of Australian and New Zealand lamb imports. Action aimed at revising grading standards of all meats along with those for dressed lamb also was said to be up for consideration. Cities competing for the 1960 convention included Las Vegas, Nev.. and San Antonio, Waco and Dallas. Tex. O. R. Strackbein, chairman of the nationwide committee on import - export policy, Wednesday recommended a general tightening up of the nation's trade policies as a means of protecting commo4 ities against imports. Mrs. O. T. Evans of Caspert Wyo., was elected president of the group's auxiliary to succeed Mrs. Rudie Mick of St. Onge, S.C. linquents," is the answer in the long run, Thompson main tained. He praised Kiwanis youth wojrk in general. He also spoke of his firm's 76 Sports' club in which young people are brought into con tact with big time athletes who serve as inspiration to them. Seven new members of the Medf ord service club attended a Kiwanis education dinner session Tuesday evening at Rogue Valley Country club and then went" to' a club board of directors meeting at the home of President Tom An derson. Bob Voegtly and John Pletsch conducted the training session. The new members are Darl Gleed, Sam Richardson, Dr. Henry Boehnke, Dr: Eu gene Ray, Howard Hopkins, Sid Shaw and the Rev. Rich ard Jones. Brantford, Ontario - (UPD -Starlings are slowing the clock on the post office here by riding the hands down from five to 25 minutes past the hour and then hopping on again for the ride up from 25 to five minutes to the hour. Their rides last from 20 min utes on the minute hand to four hours on the hour hand. Boy Trapped by Huge Pipe Saved Los Angeles -(UPD- A 12-year-old boy, trapped for nearly seven hours under a two-ton section of concrete pipe, was rescued early today by heavy equipment and deli cate work by police and fire men. Officers agreed that Perry Luth III was saved by the softness of the dirt. It allowed the huge drain pipe to push him into the earth. The boy was reported miss ing Wednesday, night from his Westchester District home. His father, joining scores of searchers, heard his faint cries for help. Preliminary examination in dicated Perry suffered a broken leg, shock and possi ble internal injuries. Rescu ers estimated that another hour under the crushing weight might have killed him. The boy apparently went exploring in a construction project which is near Los An geles International Airport and burrowed under the pipe. The pipe, 10 feet long and four feet in diameter, slipped, trapping him in a squatting position. Only his head was free. . Rescuers got Perry out by cautiously lifting the pipe with, 16-inch timbers and jacks. They feared the tick lish work might bring more earth only Perry or cause the pipe to slip further. Americans Irked By Mexican Police . Tijuana, Mexico -(UPD Doz ens of U.S. citizens, arrested in a gambling raid on a casino a nearby . Rosarito Beach Monday night, chafed today at Mexican authorities' slowness to act on their cases. About 60 Americans were detained in city jail while au thorities laboriously prepared individual reports for presen tation to the federal district courts. Indications were that the reports would be presented to day, possibly leading to the release of some of those held. Gambling in Mexico is a mis demeanor. Soldiers, led by . federal agents, closed in on the Rosar ito Beach Casino, swept mon ey from gambling tables and held those found in the club. Many claimed they . were watching, not gambling. The little boy was dead when police arrived at the St. James Hotel, where Steven had been staying with his mother, Mrs. Robert Caine, and his 1 -year -old sister, Sandy. Officers ' said Steven wan dred into an unattended ele vator in the lobby, rode the car to where it stopped a few feet above the fifth floor, at tempted to jump to thetorri dor and tumbled into the shaft. Elevator operator Charles Eaton said he left the elevator unattended on an errand. Iraq Withdrawal From Pact Sought Baghdad -(UPD- Left wing elements increased their de mands today for Iraq's formal withdrawal from the now mis named Baghdad Pact.
