St. Martin's Group Reports on Meeting The annual meeting of St. Martin's Episcopal church, Shady Cove, was held Tues day in the school. The Rev. W. B. MacHenry, vicar, was in charge of the meeting. Reports showed that sev eral gifts had been received by the church. These included money for the purchase of a chalice and paten, gifts of Rainbow Rock from which a baptismal font will be made, and $5,000 from the Episcopal church 'Women's United Thank Offering to apply to wards a building. Membership in both " the church and church Sunday school was reported to have increased during the year. Kenneth Nelmes, Eagje Point, and William Brewster, Trail, were elected to manage the church affairs. Carroll Watson, Shady Cove, was re elected as junior warden an charge of material properties, Kenneth Nelmes, secretary of committee, and Oscar Hanson, treasurer. Mr. MacHenry appointed Robert Vincent, Shady Cove, key layman to be concerned with the direction of all lay men's activities of the church, and Gary Monical as senior warden to assist and aid the vicar in spiritual affairs. 'Authentic Gospel' Is Sermon Topic "Th Most Authentic Gos pel" is the sermon of Dr. George G. Roseberry Sunday at First Methodist church. This is the second sermon in the series on the gospels. Youth . choir will sing, Arise, Shine, for the Light is Come," at the 9:30 a.m. wor ship service and the solo will be, "Teach me, O Lord," sung by Carpi VanderSteen. The chancel choir will sing, "I Will Extol? Thee, O Lord," at the 11 a.m. service, and th altar choir will sing, "For ward Through the ges." Potluck Dinner Set Sunday in Gold Hill Gold Hill - A fellowship potluck dinner will be held at the Gold Hill Christian church, at noon Sunday, fol lowing the worship at 11 a.m. Miss Jean Cunningham, min ister, will give the sermon. A short program has been planned for the afternoon por tion of the day, featuring a talk by Miss Cunningham re lating some of her experiences as a missionary in Mexico. pl OPENING! The meeting will be direct ed by the church moderator, Lyle Paull, who will receive reports from all commissions and departments of the con gregation. The election of a deacon will be a main consideration of the business. Elected dea cons with their wives serve a one year probationary period, and are then given life ordi nation to the office. The con gregation presently has five deacons. Commission meetings plan ned next week include the Christian Education group Monday at 7:30 p.m. and the Ministry and Worship com mission Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Services Told for St. Luke's Church The regular services of St. Luke's Methodist church, 2940 Siskiyou blvd., will be held Sunday with church school at 9:45 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Melvin Dixon, minister, will speak on "The Hungers We Hide!" Soloist will be Leon Myers "Hold Thou My Hand." The Intermediate Youth Fellowship will meet at 7 p.m. at the Hunter Dixon residence.- Supervised nursery is conducted for pre-school chil dren during the worship serv ice. Inquirer's Class meets for instruction at the church on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. with Mr. Dixon" conducting the doctrinal and Biblical instruc tion period. Melvin Grams, recently appointed missionary to Liberia, West Africa, will conduct services at several churches next week.
