SOC Student Body Head Leads Budget Conference Ashland - Southern Oregon college student body presiden. Richard Clark, Medford, head ed a delegation to the Ore gon Federation of College Leaders conference at Cor- vallis Jan 10 to discuss pos sible effects of the proposed cut by former Gov. Robert D. We want the students to get the best pos sible education. Any cutback is a setback in providing this education." (3) A budget cut will prob ably cause an increase in tui tion fees. Clark quoted a sur vey of the University of Wis consin which pointed out that 46 per cent of "eligible grad uating high school seniors do not attend colleges because of their unwillingness to go into debt. Lists Action Clark listed the action taken by the group: A letter is to be sent to Governor Mark Hatfied expressing the concern of the group over the proposed budget cut; the sup port of the OFCL, composed of student leaders from all the etate system schools plus Lewis and Clark college, Linfield college, Pacific uni versity, and Willamette uni versity, was pledged; and in formational campaigns will be conducted on each campus through it student govern ment, campus newspapers, and other publications.
