Traditional parties are an important part of the holiday scene in Medford, and one of these is an annual Christmas dinner given by the director and sponsor of Alpha Rho chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, for mem bers. The party is held each year in the home of Mrs. Mamie E. Sleeter, (center) 1715 East Main street, director of the chapter, and the assisting hostess is Mrs. James Callan (at left) chapter sponsor. Mrs. Sleeter and Mrs. Callan are shown here greeting Mrs. Richard Henselman, president of the group, who arrived bearing a gift to go under the Christmas tree. Alpha Rho is one of four Beta Sigma Phi chapters in the city. s I t IJ One of the annual holiday parties in Medford is that given by the University club at the clubhouse on Sixth street. Among the guests this year was Mrs. Vera Frowein, Munich, Germany, (at left) pictured here with her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Armin Richter. Mrs. Frowein, who is spending' a few weeks at . the Richter ranch, the Circle G, in the Applegate, reports she enjoys the peace and quiet of ranch life. The visitor, who spent four months with the Richters when they lived in! La Jolla, Calif., will leav . soon for Germany and later next year plans to travel in South Africa. . , , , ., t, P'l' v t ' ' Mrs. C. H. Buffington (at left) and Mrs. .Ronald Ricketts posed for pictures during the annual Christmas Charity ball of Medford Junior Service league. The event is a fancy headdress ball and Mrs. Buffington, a past president, wore candy canes in keeping with the Ball theme, and Mrs. Ricketts' headdress was a set of small golden antlers. Mrs. Buffington will serve as Jackson county chairman of the 1959 Heart Fund campaign according to an announcement made last week. .t-iTv-ii sC8 --"iff ' 1 ibiiii -"irTrJ 5 i-tV I 4 1.1 ! in More than 70 were present for the annual holiday cocktail party of Medford University club. Floyd Hart Jr., is president of the club this year and pic tured with him during the party are Mrs. Hart (center) and Mrs. Kent Blackhurst. The event is for club members, their wives and out-of-town guests. Mrs. Stuart McQueen, busy with Christmas preparations, found no time to make a headdress for the annual Medford Junior Service league Christmas charity ball. At the last minute Mrs. McQueen picked up the toy white poodle dog which was to be a Christmas present for her daughter, and found that it fitted per fectly on her head. The traditional charity event raises money for the kinder garten for hard-of-hearing children operated by the league.
