Hoffa, who announced the move Wednesday, said Team sters groups probably will meet in Washington in Janu ary or February to plan the nation-wide drive. He said money is available and will be spent, but declined to give a figure. Not To Be Raid The drive, to be aimed at hospital workers, policemen, firemen, sanitation men and others, will not be a raid on any established union, Hoffa said, but will attempt to bring in all unorganized groups., Hoffa said he realized that such employees as policemen should be in a different classi fication regarding strikes. In line with this, a New York Teamster official said the union will open a "guinea pig" case next week in a drive to organize the city's police department. Harry Feinstein, president Teamsters Local 237 of New York City, said the test case would beein next week- in ah attempt to force the po lice department to check off union dues. Higher prices received by the state's farmers for their eggs and broilers, milk and milk cows, potatoes, apples, hay, and some grains more than offset lower prices on turkeys, butterfat, meat ani mals, and some seeds, Mrs. Horrell said. As a result, the combined average price of ail farm products in Oregon rose 2 per cent last month to a level 4 per cent above a year ago. At the same time, national farm prices lost ground, pull ed lower by oranges, hogs, cotton, corn, and tobacco, Mrs. Horrell found as she studied reports from the U. S. depart ment of agriculture. Higher national prices on fresh mar ket vegetables, potatoes, ap ples, and milk cushioned the decline some, but not enough to prevent the slight sag. Retail Prices Move Up While prices received by farmers over the nation were moving down, prices of things they buy moved up a shade to another new all-time high, Mrs. Horrell also found. As a result, the parity ratio dropped one point during No vember and now stands at 81, Mrs. Horrell said. This is the same ratio between prices farmers receive and prices they pay for goods and serv- ices as a year earlier, but still 19 points below the level set by Congress as a "fair" ex change rate, she pointed out. Prices paid by farmers for living items also came in for gains last month, Mrs. Horrell reported. Higher price tags on new cars had a big hand in pushing family living items higher, but clothing, food, and building materials also moved up some. Liquor Outlet Hours Unchanged Portland - (UPD - The Ore gon Liquor Control Commis sion said today it has decided to leave the hours of opera tion for liquor outlets un changed. Administrator George Van Bergen said the matter came up because some persons had suggested "equalizing" hours for taverns, clubs and other outlets. Taverns at present may remain open until 1 a.m. and restaurants, clubs and lonuges until 2:30 a.m. Van Bergen said a hearing held Tuesday produced no real reason for a change. The OLCC accepted the re tirement resignation of L. B. Russell, license supervisor, and appointed John E. Mar tin, manager of the Portland office of the Civil Service Commission, to succeed him.
