WILLIAM HUNTER William Hunter, of 1119 East Jackson street, who was born in Gold Hill on Nov. 2, 1884, died in a local hospital Saturday. Conger -Morris fu neral home is in charge of arrangements. Joseph Brugman Dies at Home Services Tuesday John Joseph Brugman, 77, died Saturday night at the family home on 1616 Crown ave., Medford. Mr. Brugman was born in Nichols, Iowa, on Aug. 10, 1881 and had been a resident of this community and of the state for 14 years. He was a retired banker and was an of ficer of the Continental Illi nois Bank of Chicago. Mr. Brugman was well known also for his work in garden ing and for the various strains of flowers which he devel oped. Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Brugman; three sons, John W. Brugman, Portland, Francis W. Brug man, Tacoma, Wash., and Dr. Barry Brugman, Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Smith, Pilot Rock and Mrs. Evans Powell, Aloha; three brothers, Wil liam Brugman, Portland, Dr. Francis Brugman, Palm Des ert, Calif., and Dr. Joseph Brugman, Kirkland, Wash., and 18 grandchildren. . Funeral services will be held in the Sacred Heart Cath olic church on Tuesday, at 9 ajn. with Father William Mc Leod officiating. Burial will be in the Siskiyou Memorial park. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held in Perl Funeral home on Monday, at 7:30 p.m. Services Planned For Frank Learning Services for Frank C. Learn ing, 52', 459 Grand street, Central Point, who died Sat urday, in an auto accident, will be held in the Conger Morris funeral home Tuesday, at 3 p.m., with The Rev. Sher man Moore, Pilgrim Holiness church, officiating. Burial will be in the Stearns ceme tery, Talent. Mr. Learning was born in Gold Hill, Nov. 1, 1906, and lived in the valley all his life. He was a veteran of World War II, enlisting on June 18, 1942, Klamath Falls, and re ceived his discharge as a pri vate first class from the Infantry-Engineers, on Aug. 22, 1946, San Francisco. On Feb. 19, 1945, in Pomona, Cali fornia he was married to Norma Marsh. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Norma Learning, Central Point; two children Douglas Marsh, Ventura, Calif., Cora Lou Marsh, San Bernardino, Calif.; three grandchildren; two brothers, Charles L. "Bob" Learning, Medford; Ed ward W. Learning, Shady Cove; three sisters, Mrs. E. H. Cochrane, Klamath Falls; Mrs. Alton Hart, Medford; and Mrs. Leslie Myers, Se attle. (DPD Arctic explorer Sir Hubert Wilkins was found dead in a hotel room here today appar ently of a heart attack. He was 70. Police said that the famed bearded explorer had worked most of Sunday on his auto mobile in frigid weather. Wilkins was a cold weather specialist for the Army's quar termaster research and devel opment unit at nearby Natick. Wilkins was chiefly inter ested in determining how man could live and travel in polar regions. The chief executive, who will take off for Washington Tuesday afternoon, called a meeting of the National Aeronautic Space Council at 9 a.m. Wednesday. One of the key items pending before the council is whether the Army must give over its top scien tific staff of missile experts to the civilian National Aero nautics and Space Adminis tration. Later in the same day, the President will hold the first of two National Security Council meetings this week. These two NSC conferences will be devoted to discussing the massive programs for fis cal 1960 involving the main tenance of American security through the military spending budget, plus the mutual assis tance program of economic and military aid for friendly nations Mother, Children Hurt in Mishap An expectant mother and her two small children receiv ed minor injuries yesterday afternoon in a two-car collis ion hear the Big Y, Medford police reported. Mrs. Nahldene Loraine Fann, 25, of Grants "Pass, and the children, Treasa Lee 2, and Karl Daniel, 11 months, were taken to Sacred Heart hospital. Mrs. Fann, who com plained of pain in her neck and abdomen, was reported in good condition today. The children were treated as out patients. The collision reportedly oc curred about 1:45 p.m. as the Fann car, driven by Francis Henry Fann, was about to turn left from the center lane of North Pacific highway. An other vehicle coming from the north struck it in the right rear, police said. The driver of the second vehicle, Paul Gene Roby, 17, of 133 Taft st., Medford, was cited for following too close.
