Mrs. Shibley is the former Miss Ruby Darlene Henderson, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. John F. Groth of that city and former Medford residents. Mrs. Shibley is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett S. Shibley, Estacada, Ore. The bride attended Med ford High school and is a graduate of Eugene High school. She attended La Verne college. La Verne, Calif., and has served two years in Christian Volunteer Service work in Puerto Rico. The father of the bride of ficiated at the afternoon cere mony. Baskets of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums dec orated the church. The bride wore a white I peau de faille gown fashioned with full skirt that terminated in a chapel train. Her finger tip length veil was held by a nylon cap and she carried red and white rosebuds on a white Bible. Mr. Groth gave his daughter in marriage. Mrs. Donald E. Green, Al- turas, Calif., was honor at tendant for her sister and Miss Winifred Shibley, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid. They both wore gold brocaded satin gowns with rust chiffon sashes and carried gold bas kets of yellow and bronze chrysanthemums. Miss Sylvia May Coggins, Medford, cousin of the bride, and John C. Henderson II were candlelighters Miss Cog gins wore a rust chiffon over tafetta frock with cum merbund of gold satin and her wrist corsage was of bronze chrysanthemums. Mrs. C. E. Mrs. Delmar Smith ' Is Hostess For Club Central Point Mrs. Delmar Smith was hostess October 22 for a meeting of Central Point Grange Home Economics club. Dessert luncheon was served with C. F. Smith and Mrs. Walter Mang assisting. The group decided to omit the November meeting since it would be too close to Thanksgiving. The December meeting will be held at the Otto Niedermeyer home. Mrs. Mang presented a con test with Mrs. Smith playing piano selections. It was announced that Rob ert Kuest, 4-H club member, ws received presented the Sears Roebuck company award for his work in poultry'. 1 Guild Makes Study Of Presbyterianism Westminster guild of First Presbyterian church will meet Monday,, November 3, at 7:45 p.m. in the Fireplace room of the church. The program and devotions will deal with the question "What is a Presbyterian?" and will continue the study of this subject begun last month. Mrs. R. A. Brewer and Mrs. Eloise Winklebleck will be in charge of the program. Hostesses for the meeting will be Mrs. J. A. Medley, Mrs. Virgil Bolton and Mrs. H. E. Marsh. Coggins, Medford, aunt of the bride, made the bride's wed ding gown and the frocks for her attendants. 5 Gilbert Shibley, served as best man for his brother and Ernest L. Groth and Elwin Shibley seated the guests. Mrs. John C. Henderson was soloist and Miss Ardie Schuck played the organ. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the American Legion hall. Among those assisting at the event was Mrs. Coggins who cut and served the wedding cake. The bridegroom is a gradu ate of Oregon State college. The couple are both employed by the Board of Christian Education. Members of the Elks lodge and guests who attended the Hawaiian parties given by the lodge last week had the highest of praise for the decorating committee. The commit tee, composed of (left to right) Ralph Mat lack, Mrs. Richard Phair, Ray Huson and James Clark, worked for a week before the three-day event opened Thursday night to transform the party room into an island setting. Hilo Haitie and her troupe provided entertainment and played for dancing each evening. Community Day.Plans Completed Plans for the observance of World Community Day were completed at a recent committee meeting of the Medford Council of Church Women. The event is sched uled for Friday, November 1, in St. Mark's Episcopal church. A short business meet ing will be held at 11 o'clock, with the president, Mrs. Ev erett Faber, presiding. Elec tion of officers will be held. A covered dish luncheon will be served at 12:30 p.m. and those attending are ask ed to bring hot dishes, salads and desserts. The afternoon service fol lowing luncheon is to be held in the sanctuary of the church. Mrs. C. L. Miller, chairman for the afternoon will pre side. Dr. George Roseberry will give the opening devo tions and will install the new officers. s Musical numbers will in clude a speaking choir from Hedrick Junior High school directed by Jerome McDougal and a vocal selection by Mrs. J. C. Kaylor. Mrs. Ernest Con rad will be at the organ. Mrs. George Bolster will lead the responsive portion of the program. Ushers will be women of the hostess church and include Mrs. H. C. Goldsmith, Mrs. Robert Dames, Mrs. Donald McNeil and Mrs. C. O. Lovejoy. A Nursery will care for small children. The Rev. George R. V. Bol ster and the Rev. John F Power will dedicate the offer ing of both money and mate rials donated. . Member Honored On Anniversary Pythian club honored Mrs. Audley White in observance of her 50th wedding anniver sary at a meeting held last Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Arnold Motschen- bacher. Mrs. Leroy Cline was co-hostess. ' Mrs. White was presented a gift and corsage from the group and the hostesses had prepared a specially decorated cake for the occasion. Cards were played with prizes being won by Mrs. John Russell, Mrs. Mabel Nicholson and Mrs. William Sweet. Past Chiefs' club of the Pythian Sisters will meet Wednesday at L p.m. at the home of Mrs. Harry Bryant, 1312 Reddy avenue; for a cov ered dish luncheon. Mrs. Loyd Dusenberry. and Mrs. Melvin Burnette are in charge of the seal sale this year. Additional plans will be made for the rummage sale, which will be given by the local unit in Medford at the Fehl building on November 20 and November 21. Mrs. Arthur Boye is chairman for this project. Persons having suitable articles for rummage may leave them at the Walker's Signal Service station in Gold Hill.
