r 'T .Tyy'"""" Mrs. Frederick Art Show Announced One observance of National Art Week locally will be the art show being presented by Medford branch, American Association of University Women. It will be at the pub lic library in the children's de partment, downstairs. Times for the display are Monday, November 3 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Coffee and " cookies will be served Mon day evening. The committee for the show includes Mrs. Edwin Gebhard, Mrs. Frank Kehoe, Mrs. Ever ett Lasher, Mrs. Charles Free man, Mrs. Roland Mayer, and Miss Catherine Fonken. They report a gratifying response from local artists and cordial ly invite the public to enjoy this opportunity of seeing what is being done in the Medford area in various forms of art. Miss Helen Webster, libra rian of the Medford Public Li brary has acted as ex-officio member of the show commit tee. Since this is Book Week as well as Art Week it is ap propriate that the show can take place in the library. ' A. C. Stock Jr. Scouts Workers Attend Session Several Girl Scout workers and scouts from the valley at tended the Northwest Region al Conference of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. which opened in Portland Tuesday. The three-day meet attract ed workers from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska. Mrs. T. R. Lytle of the Rogue Valley Girl Scout Council headed the lo cal delegation. Theme of the fconference was "You Can Count on Her, Can She Count on You?" Also attending from Med ford were Mrs. Richard Gray, Mrs. Jack James, Miss Ruth Kilbourn, Mrs. Wilberta Le Roy, Bonnie Allingham, MImi Jones, Martha Sanborn and Sherrie Pritchard. Rebekahs Plan For Homecoming The annual homecoming of Olive Rebekah lodge will be held Monday, November 3, at the Odd Fellows hall, 221 West Sixth street. A turkey dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with a lodge meeting at 7 p.m. In charge of arrangements are Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Stock Jr., are making their home at 1320 Queen Anne street, Medford, following "their wedding Friday, Oct ober 24, at Second Evangeli cal and Reformed church in Portland. Mrs. Stock is the former Miss Claudine Brandow, the daughter of Mrs. Zeta Bran dow and Clyde Brandow, both oPrtland. Mr. Stock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Stock, also Port land. The bride wore a floor length white lace over satin gown with chapel train and her fingertip length veil was held by a pearl crown. She carried gardenias and steph anotis. Miss Carolyn Brandow was honor attendant for her sis ter and Miss Carol Anderson was bridesmaid. Bridesmat rons were Mrs. Richard Hau zenberger and Mrs. Ronald Winkler. They wore blue vel veteen frocks and carried white and yellow chrysanthe- Lmums. Twin nieces of the bride groom, Janet and Janis Peder- son, were flower girls and their brother, Douglas, was ring bearer. Richard Hauzenberger serv ed as best man and Duayne Barnhart, Craig Warnock and Douglas Donaca seated the guests. The couple traveled to San Francisco on their wedding trip. The bride attended Port land State college and was employed as a bookkeeper for the Skyline Memorial Gard ens, Portland. Mr. Stock is a graduate of Lewis and Clark college and is a case worker with the State Welfare depart ment here. Installation Held By Grandmothers Mrs. J. B. Carr was installed as president of the Rogue chapter, Grandmother Clubs of America, Monday at the Girls Community club. Others installed were Mrs. Fred Ryde, first vice-president; Mrs. Otto Gaston, sec ond vice president; I.irs. Maude King, secretary; and Mrs. Sam Young, treasurer. Mrs. Rex Note, retiring president, was presented a a presidents pin. Three new members were initiated 3nd several visitors were introduced. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. C. R. Alexander, Mrs. Ryde, Mrs. Edward Lovell and Mrs. Clay ton Walker. The next meeting will be a covered dish luncheon No vember 24. Officers Elected By Rose Society New officers were elected by Medford Rose society at a meeting at the courthouse auditorium Monday evening. Elected were: Carl Norris, president; Dr. Louis G. Gent ner, first vice-president; Von Quackenbush, second vice president; Mrs. R. H. Travis, secretary; Mrs. Elton Wald ron, treasurer; Mrs. Eldred Peyton, librarian; Mrs. W. R. Peabody, parliamen t a r i a n; and Mrs. Sam Harbison, his torian. Members enjoyed a "trade session" of rose cuttings. A report on the many varieties) of roses owned by the mem bership was given, and their rating shown. Ranking high were Queen Elizabeth, Spar tan and- Tiffany. Miss Ruth Sutherlin won a Sunset Gar den Book. k Session Planned By Study Club Two members will give the program when Wednesday Study club meets Wednesday, November 5, at 2 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Jack Swem, 38 Ross court, at 2 p.m. Mrs. E. W. Jermark will review "Parade of Banners" and Mrs. Swem will review "Bitter Lemons." Miss Albers is a graduate of Bemidji High school and is employed at F. W. Wool worth company here. Mr. Babb is an airman second class in the United States Air Force stationed at Alexander, La. Byrd, 1041 Clay street, became the bride of Peter Yale Windt, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Ber nard Windt, 1033 Clay street, in a ceremony held October 19. The Rev. Herschel Hall of Ashland First -Methodist church officiated for the rites, held at the home of the bride groom's parents at 5:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Only immediate members of the families were present. A small reception followed. The bride is a 1958 grad uate of Ashland High school. Mr. Windt graduated from the same school in 1956 and at tended Stanford - university for two years. He is presently employed by' the United States Forest service. . The couple is at home in Parkview Apartments, Ash land. Wal ker are making their home in Portsmouth, Va., following their wedding there October 13 at the First Presbyterian church. Mrs. Walker is the former Miss Ann Korchek of that city. Mr. Walker is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Lusk, 10 Portland avenue, Medford. The bridegroom attended Medford high school and has served with.the United States Navy. At the present time he is serving with the United States Air Force. Home Ceremony In California Marries Couple Hilt s Approximately 25 friends and relatives attended the wedding of Reba Jean Robinson of Ashland and Nor man Bernheisel on Saturday, October 25 at one o'clock in the home of the bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ozzie Bernheisel. Pastor John Shaw officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The couple's only attendants were Mrs. Edna Ayers of Ashland, sister of the bride, and Robert Goodwin, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The brida was dressed in a pink afternoon dress with white accessories and wore an orchid corsage. Mrs. Ayers wore a white dress with white accessories. For the wedding and reception Mrs. Bernheisel chose a blue dress with pink accessories. The reception, held at the Plaza cafe dining room in Ashland, was attended by ap proximately 50 friends and relatives. The bride has been em ployed at the Plaza cafe for the past several months. Mr. Bernheisel is a former em ployee of Fruit Growers Sup ply company and at the pres ent time is employed at the Sharp Lumber company in Happy Camp, where - the couple plan to make their home. Out of town guests, attend ing the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bernheisel and Nye Hernheisel, all of Med ford.
