Dalbec, 422 Chest put street, became the bride (of William L. Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin, 29 Jeanette street, in a ceremony held September 26 The Rev W. E. Martin officiated at the double ring ceremony held at the First Church of God par-ionage. i. Members of the families of the couple attended the seven o'clock ceremony. 5 The bride wore a royal blue Jersey dress with white acces sories and white carnation corsage. ; ' Miss Judy Martin, sister of the bridegroom, was brides maid. Warren Boes served as best man. H Following the ceremony a Teception was held at the home of Mrs. Donald Smith attended by 28 relatives and friends. Mrs. Arthur Ziemann cut the wedding cake while Mrs. Donald Smith and Mrs. Cecil Shumake, served the cake and-poured the coffee. They are aunts of the newly weds. Mrs Frank Kerr, aunt of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Mr. Martin is serving with the U. S. Navy and is station ed in Okinawa. Mrs. Martin will make her home here. Mexico is Topic ! For Study Club - Mrs. Edith Hall, San Diego, Calif., will talk on "Mexico City and Acapulco," at a meeting of Travel Study club at 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 28. Mrs. Vera Backstrom Hausmann has charge of the program. The club will meet with Mrs. Willis T. Fasel, 111 Ash land avenue, with Mrs. Clay M. Lee hostess. College Changes Week End Event Portland Dad's Week end at Lewis and Clark college, Portland, will not be held this fall, college officials' reported this week. They expained that a Parents Week End will be planned in the spring. Kiwanian Dames Plan Luncheon Kiwanian Dames will meet on Tuesday, October 28, at 12 Noon at the Girls Communitv club. The hostesses for the luncheon will be the officers. Mrs. Frank A. Benesh, presi dent; Mrs. Thomas C. Ander son, vice president; Mrs. Paul E. Jorgenson, secretary, and Mrs. Lou Cranston, treasurer. Public Invited To Party Monday A hard-time party will be held Monday, October 27, at the Jackson Hotel by the Rogue Valley chapter of the Women's Association of the Allied Beverage Industry. The event will aid financially the Rogue River kindergarten op erated by Mrs. Doris Burk- ette. - A social hour will be fol lowed by a buffet dinner and the Shadows choral group will sing. Dancing will be held following the dinner, and cos tumes will be judged. The party is open to the public with tickets available from members of the associa tion or at the door. Proceeds will be used to sponsor a needy child for the year as well as assist financially with the painting of the school building. The last meeting of the as sociation was held at the Rouge Riviera Monday with Mrs. Burkette as guest speak er. Come on over! SP 2-8992 Hozvard-Kelley Ceremony Held at Methodist Church The wedding of Miss Lor- were Mrs. etta Ellen Kelley to Ray mond Wayne Howard was an event of Saturday, October 18, at First Methodist church The bride is the elder daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Orval P, Kelley, 1629 Thomas road, and the bridegroom's parents are Mrs. Lily M. Howard and Cecil C. Howard, both Portland. . The ceremony took place at three o'clock in the after noon with Dr. George , G, Roseberry officiating. About 80 i guests attended the serv ice and the reception which followed in the church parlors. The bride wore gown of white lace over taffeta with long sleeves, scoop neckline and full-gored skirt. Her veil was fingertip length and she carried white stephanotis centered with a white orchid. Her pearl necklace , and ear rings were the bridegroom s gift. . ; Miss Lois Fay Kelley was her sister's honor attendant. She wore a street-length frock of rust-colored crystal- lette over . taffeta fashioned with scoop neckline, short sleeves and a full skirt. Her flowers were a nosegay of yellow roses encircled with cream-colored roses. Mrs. Boyd Dunford, the former Celia Clogston, Cres well, Ore.,'was bridesmatron. She also wore rust-colored crystallette and taffeta fash ioned as the honor . attend ant's gown, and carried roses. Mr. Kelley gave his daugh ter in marriage, and Norman Quigley, Portland, was best man for the bridegroom. Ed ward J. Lugar, Portland, seat; ed the guests. Mrs? Leslie Boardman was organist and William Wilson sang the wedding songs. Baskets of -bronze, yellow and white chrysanthemums decorated the church and the reception rooms. For the wedding and recep tion Mrs. Kelley wore a rose beige lace dress with match ing accessories and a corsage' of pink sweetheart roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a navy blue lace dress with matching accessories and cor sage of pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. George Mero as sisting. Mrs. L. G. Frink provided the reception music and Mrs. Virgil Calkins took charge of the guest book, Mrs. Edward J. Lugar, Portland, and Mrs. Lemuel Guthrie took charge of the gifts. Among the wedding guests were Miss Joan Holzmeyer, Dundee, Ore., Mrs. Donald Lawrenson, Portland,- Mrs. Keith Garwood, Salem, all Delta Zeta sorority sisters of the bride, and Mr. Garwood. The bride wore a navy blue suit with matching accessories and a pink rosebud dorsage. , The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hobbs, 143 Bush street 'in Central Point and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil King, Upton road, also Cen tral Point. . The bridegroom, a pay roll ruditor with United States Fidelity and Guaranty company in Portland, attend ed Portland State coHege and is a graduate cf the Univer sity of Oregon. : Sojourners Plan Party A fall dinner dance is plan ned by the Medford Sojourn ers for Saturday, November 1, at the Rogue Valley Country club. Chairmen for the dance are Mrs. Ronald Hale and Mrs. F. T. Jones. The informal event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Entertainment will include the Shadows, local group, and a, three-piece ensemble will play for the dancing. Cards will be played by those who wish. At the last meeting of the club cornucopias decorated the tables for the event, held at the Girls Community club.!
