With the Black Tornado playing a platoon systemHarrison has been a regular on offense. The Tornado is playing at Eureka, Calif., this evening. Anderson To Start As LB for Tornado End Jerry Anderson likely will get starting call at a line backer post for the Medford high football team this eve ning. He would fill the spot usual ly held dows by quarterback Fred Funston. Medford's Black Tornado has a non-league encounter at Eureka, Calif. Funston is one of three players being left behind be cause of ailments. He has the flu. The other two remaining home were lineman Gary Heath who sprained an ankle in the Klamath Falls game last week and tackle Gordon Pathman who. has poison oak. Tackle Monty Penwell is ex- Whitehurst Foe Of Sonny Liston St. Louis (UPD C harles (Sonny) Liston, ranked ninth among the nation's heavy ' weights, will take on Bert Whitehurst of Baltimore,' Md., tonight in a nationally tele vised 10-rounder that he hopes will move him a step closer to a title match. Liston is possessor of a lethal right hand punch. Three of his last wins came via the knockout route and his victims Wayne Bethea, Julio Mederos and Frankie Daniels lasted a total of less than four rounds against him. He has an overall record of 20 wins against a single de feat and is presently seeking to extend a string of 13 con secutive triumphs. ' Whitehurst, a hardy trial horse, has a 24-14-4 record. He was a loser on a decision .to Liston in a previous match. Western Senior In Semi-Final Pinehurst, N.C. - (CPD - For mer Western Seniors cham pion James H. Indirectly, a compari son results from Medford's 53 to 0 win over Klamath Falls, Shasta of Reading's 33 to 6 de cision over Klamath and Red ding's 20 to 7 victory over Eureka. Eureka wins have been over Ukiah and Fortuna and the Loggers have bowed to Areata, Del Norte and For tuna, 'as "well "as" Redding. They lost their first game with 20 to 0 but won the sec ond 33 to 20. Medford has de feated North Salem, David Douglas, Marshfield, Crater and Klamath Falls. Hoover, Lincoln Nab Grade Tilts Hoover turned back Oak Grove and Lincoln tipped Wilson yesterday in American league games in the city grade school football circuit. Scores in both games were 7 to 0. Lincoln crossed the Wilson goal with 2li minutes to play in the fourth quarter. In yesterday's listing of city grade school coaches, the name of Jim Hennebeck was inadvertently left .out.
